Tough way to lose a basketball game. These things happen once in a while. People need to keep perspective on wins and losses in rebuild seasons. Whether Rutgers has 14 or 15 wins it’s irrelevant. Now if Rutgers was on the bubble and this happened this would truly be a haunting loss but it’s not whatsoever just another bump in the road to relevancy. So chill out and enjoy the quantum leap this program is making.

Agree 100%. If this was a game that had post season implications (not counting B1G) it would have been doubly brutal. We all wanted a win but a loss may pay more dividends down the road than a win tonight.

I hear you but those shots DON'T happen. Like never. You won't see another like that for like 20 years I bet.
What year was basketball invented? Does someone want to go through the tapes and find the last time a team completed a full-court pass to the far corner and then hit the shot off the edge of the backboard as time expired to win? 20 years may be an understatement

It’s OK to be upset about a brutal loss without going overboard or getting crazy about it, but after this loss it’s surely not the time to “relax”. Have a pulse...

That angle from the corner is nearly impossible. And it went right through the net, didn't even bounce around the riim

Sorry gordel. I understand what you're saying, but let people vent. This was a game that we should have won. That shot by Wieskamp was a 1 in 1,000 shot. People are angry. Let them be angry. I'm still pissed off.

Venting is ok but people need to have big picture views on tough losses. Rutgers has won most of these tight games this year and this was a “freak” loss. The circumstances may have been particularly peculiar but these things happen to any decent team. Sure beats getting crushed every night. Keep enjoying the ascension. This team is going to start going to postseasons next year.

Gordel, I think everyone is enjoying the "ascension." But don't come here and lecture how people should feel after getting our hearts broken. It doesn't matter that we're not contending for an NCAA birth. We're trying right now to stay out of the cellar for the first time and possibly get a first round bye. Please don't tell me or others how to feel right now. I'm still pissed and numb from a 1 in 1,000th shot.

No lecturing here just recommending the correct way to look at the season thus far as a whole and the significant improvement of the product on the court. Tell me the significance of a first round bye of a conference tournament? It only serves the purpose to teams likely to win it all.

The first round bye, means we finish at least 10th in the league which shows REAL improvement. All of us will feel satisfied at the end of the year regardless of what our final record is. But this one really hurt. And I am not speaking for others, but can tell you, I watched that entire game from start to finish, and I'm still trying to get over that surreal ending. I and others will be fine. The bottom line is I am damn proud of this team. They will only continue to get better and the future is very bright for us.

Dude. The world isn’t ending but the loss definitely hurts. For the players, coaches and fans, we haven’t seen post season in years and we are finally close. A lot of positive things are happening with the program. We now actually have a program.

Bottom line is when you are a competitive team team consistently like Rutgers has been this season you will win close games and lose some that is the very existence of a team at this stage of Rutgers development. The circumstances around this specific game were again peculiar and stand out more than any other close losses because of the specific fashion. However, the result itself is generally insignificant in a non postseason year. Now, the only argument someone could make to me that this was "heart breaking" or "program changer" is if Iowa was say a top 5 team.

Yo, you’re using a synonym of lecturing to convince that you are not lecturing.

Geo's shot had a lot of luck, Bohannon who never misses a free throw missed one, the winning shot wasnt as desperate on 2nd glance, justthe way it went of glass that made it ridiculous

I dont know, there are crazy shots almost every night in basketball and lot of these last seconds ones too...check this one out from last week

it was a fairly clean shot, a bit off balance but he was open for this...

I wonder if Pike thought that Iowa was going to try to get the ball to half court and call timeout, they had 3.3 they could have done that

if only Eug was able to jump higher

Saw that one too but in honesty a straight away look from half court has a better of chance of going in off the backboard than tonights shot did.

remember GW's Yinka Dare catching the ball full court with 1.7 sec left shooting over Chuck Weiler in 93 and sending the game to OT and a game that kept RU from making the NIT...it took me weeks to recover from that loss...I dont think we guarded the inbounder

I was in the 2nd row of 109 for that gem so it happened right in front of my face. That was just HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE defense on our part. Tonight was just horrible luck.

Did he call glass?

Well, at least the home team won there.

This is one of the best posts of the night and something people need to understand.
Geo’s shot and the Bohannon miss (as well as MM’s three straight misses) were basketball plays—something practiced and achieved or not. The buzzer beater was a freak circus shot.

No loss is a good loss especially when Rutgers is fighting for seeding in the B1G Tournament.

Uh ... except you forgot we’re Rutgers ... it feels like this happens more to Rutgers than other teams, but I am sure we forget when things go RU’s way like the 4 point play vs Villanova, the turnaround bank shot vs Syracuse ... really sucks because the team had a chance at a .500 season with that win!

Not exactly the same, but 2 words from Rutgers RAC history that should invoke similar nightmares - Yinka Dare.
