Without these two we would not even remotely be competitive with Michigan. Added credit to them for tuning out the noise of 5th graders on this board calling them names.
They more than earned their keep against Michigan. Just keep getting better is the key. They need to finish strong and really take advantage of another year of development.

Reid and Page got labeled as disappointments way too early. They have real traits and real upside. They were never billed as plug and play, high usage, ready made veterans the way some of the top of the Big Ten can go out and buy. They were targeted as multi year pieces who fill roster holes while bridging to a large freshman class.

That context matters. They came in as developmental transfers with eligibility left, not finished products. The flashes are there. Now it is about refinement, strength, and comfort within the system. If that growth curve hits the way I think it can, there is a very real chance these guys look dramatically different next season and end up surprising people. It’s a rebuild and they’re part of the bridge.

Agree they have traits, but their roles need to be fully defined. There is progress, but it’s clear that Reid should not be the primary ball handler and facilitator. As for Page, he’s got offensive skills and physical traits that scream “ mismatch”, but he’s not a paint protector.

I suspect part of the problem is that they came out of the gate firing and used their athletic gifts to dominate some of our non-conference opponents. I know I started to get disproportionately excited about them. But once BIG season hit, they both disappeared for a while, or worse, just flat out looked bad. That is about the time some of those attacks got levied on them. It was the disappointment of us creating initial outsized expectations for them, and then seeing those expectations crumble. However, now I think we're starting to see both of them develop and adapt to the higher level game in BIG play, but they both still have major holes in their game that need more development.

In frustration during a game, I might have let slip that I wouldn't be disappointed if they both left at the end of the year and we tired again in the portal, but in this calmer moment I think it would be best if they both came back and kept growing in the program.

He is a forward and not a center (as many on this board were thinking), As a forward he has the potential to be a big plus,.

Juniors who are not immediate impacts are not a good portal target. They were supposed to come in and start, and did.

Zero chance Page and Reid are back next year. They are not program players. Big mistake that CCC made. He just took pure talent/potential but didn’t realize they aren’t team players. He will make sure the clubhouse issues aren’t there next year.
