Southampton 15-0

This is a team we don't hear much about or their Southside District. But their one of only two teams to go through the regular season unbeaten. Amherst Co. 20-0 the other in Region III. Southampton will host Lafayette Monday at 1:00 PM. I don't think in AA that we ever have had two teams play for the State Championship unbeaten.

Region IV Southwest District Update

Since both Abingdon and Richlands have advanced to the Region four tournament they will not play a championship game. Their will be a 3rd place game between Carroll Co. 11-8 and Tazewell 5-10 today at 5:30 at Abingdon HS. The winner will be the three team to advance from the Southwest District.

Final Tazewell 7 Carroll Co. 5

Tazewell 6-10 with the win gets a Region 4 berth and the third team out the Southwest District. Carroll Co. season ends at 11-9.

In the Blue Ridge District 3rd place game Staunton River gets the District's third bid and a spot in the Region 3 tournament. Staunton River 14-9 Rockbridge 7-12.
