Refs were awful at the end. ...but RU is a bad team, which shouldn't be a shock to anybody. Daniels was a blessing and curse tonight. His success ultimately meant that guys like Williams, Foreman and Freeman weren't invilved nearly enough in the last 10 minutes
I agree we got hosed most if the second half. But we played like absolute and utter trash too. Horrible defense pathetic shot selection no rebounds. No free throws. Just a lousy team.
Up 16 late and lose. And Rutgers fans blame the refs? Blame your players for 5-14 at the line, huh?
Knew we were cursed when I saw them call out Jim Burr in the Puerto Rico game earlier and we were playing St johns tonight.
FTs killed us, but the refs have to make those obvious foul calls.
yes RU got screwed at the end...no its not why they lost...RU had a 16 point lead and made some horrible decisions offensively and went 5-14 at the line...THAT is why they lost and not the refs. RU never should have been in the position they were..thats on the players and the coaching staff
Nobody's denying that we couldn't hit a free throw to save our lives, but they still earned the chance to shoot those late free throws. Anybody saying any differently didn't actually watch the game and just came on this site to ***** without actually knowing what went on.
Why, would you feel better after Sanders had bonked two more FTs and RU still loses by 2? Refs did us a favor because, you know, 5-14 sounds so much more competent than 5-16.
Sure, those were atrocious non-calls. But if RU could shoot even 50% from the line then the awful non-calls don't matter.
Yes, we missed free throws, but so did they. There were many questionable calls that got them back in the game, but the bottom line is that we were mugged twice when we could have tied it or won it. Let fans vent after a tough loss. You can't deny we were screwed with a chance to win or tie.
What happened to the drive and kick game? They just kept taking it into the trees every time for the last 8 minutes or so. Panic. Eddie has to calm them down. For as good as Daniels was, he hurts us at he end by being out of control and trying to take everything to the hole.
We can't shoot free throws, we can't shoot period but, Christ, two guys are fouled and end up on the floor and neither are called? Ridiculous.

hey, at least the time REALLY ran out on us this game. Was waiting for them to call the game .7 seconds BEFORE Daniels made that final 3.
Sure I would feel better if Sanders were at the line-if he misses again then it's on him. The refs took it away from him. But I get it, RU blows it no matter what in your mind.
Refs sucked and hosed us down the stretch for sure, but I thought we lost because we shot 35% from the FT line, Eddie went zone for too long when we had the big lead and let SJU back in the game with a spate of threes, and he sat Sanders on the bench too long in the 2nd half while our offense was floundering.
