we had a huge number of recruits in for this game

Is it better to gamble and bring recruits in for a game against a team like Michigan where things can go off the rails pretty quick and the stadium is emptying out at halftime or wait until the NW and Purdue games where you have a higher likelihood of being competitive and providing a much better gameday experience?

Have to believe it wasn't a good look for recruiting purposes. Have to spin it to offering them immediate playing time, I guess 🤷‍♂️

Players don't take these games as personally as we do, thank god. But you would still rather have them at a "good" game

What does taking it personally have to do with it? You don't have to take it personally to question, as a recruit, whether you want to be part of what we rolled out there yesterday.

A beatdown like Nebraska got can do a couple of things to a recruits thinking such as they see an opportunity to better this team with their commitment, or see a disaster that they want no part of.

So, the win/loss is "personal" for us fans, not recruits.

Like, you can be there for a big game and the team recruiting you wins and the actual impact that will have on the recruit is almost nothing, just like a bad loss is almost nothing.

For us fans, it is everything.

😂 the things I continue to read on these boards. The recruits do see an opportunity to play early and they also believe in the vision that Rhule and staff have to right the ship as well as have good relationships with the staff and see themselves fitting in and feeling at home with the staff. They know the wins will come. The “kids” playing football aren’t as big of babies as the grown adults that can’t seem to stop whining. We’re on coach #6 since Osborne retired. We had a coach winning games, he was fired. Constant whining he wasn’t going to get it done. We had another coach winning games. He was fired. He was mean and didn’t win a title soon enough. We had horrible hires in between those coaches that needed fired. Rhule was thrown under the bus after 1 game. Give the man some time to do something with this program. Keep it up and maybe after he rebuilds yet another program he’ll take a job somewhere else to get away from these “greatest fans in college football” that don’t do anything but throw fits and cry about everything.

Rhule will get it done. He’s proven he can. So let him work. If he’s here for 4-5 years and we suck then we acknowledge it’s not working. Not after 5 games.

Yes, #1 put them in the press box where it’s air conditioned, and #2 tell them that they will be starting next year.

That was a miserable day to watch football and then the product to watch was just as bad as the weather.

Small checkbook.
