I am trying to figure out what it is we are doing here at the end.

1. We have a large # of OVs currently on campus or on the way.
2. A few guys have left early (Lee, Gates) or are transferring out (Newell?..other?)
3. A few guys are transferring in (Dixon, Vedral....other?)
4. We have 15 commits and maybe 8? 9? 10? spots left?

OV list includes.............
.....another QB on top of Martinez and Vedral.
.....Two different RBs (Corbin, Jackson) than the one from the other day (Washington) who was himself different from the target last week (Henry)

So what is our strategy at this point? Are we oversigning and cutting dead weight later?(Probably)
Are we bringing in the best recruits available no matter the position? (appears so)
Do we even have an actual strategy?

From the outside it looks like CHAOS. The OV list has had adds and drops almost daily. Experts are making predictions for a kid to commit and then *poof* his name disappears from the OV list or he gets moved to a later date. I hope it is more organized that it looks, but I am leaning towards the chaos idea because of the simple fact that we have a completely turned over staff and most of them were coaching another school up until a few days ago. We literally might just trying to get whatever we can however we can at this point. The roster for next year might be unrecognizable compared to this year's.

Can anyone else make any sense of what we are doing?

Wow, I guess we are seeing totally different things. I think we are organized and have a clear plan.

On the RB’s, I think they want to take one more and are trying to walk that line of getting their guy without totally cutting ties with the backup plans. They want in order: Corbin, Williams, Henry. They want them to visit in that order and get the chance to commit in that order. I think we saw all the CB’s for Henry because he wanted to commit and was scheduled to visit. The staff only wants one more back and wasn’t ready to take him, so they pushed back his visit.

I see QB as a similar situation. They would like another QB, if space allows, but it isn’t a priority like OLB/pass rusher. So they pushed back the visits of Tago and Joyner to bring in pass rushers Dixon, Tannor and Jean-Baptist.

To me the rest is pretty clear. They are done at TE. Want Jones as slot WR, will take another outside WR, if space allows. Want a couple more OL, especially Bell who just visited. Done on DL, if they get Carson and/or Rogers. Still after OLB, want a couple CB’s, two just visited and I could see a JUCO popping up. Done at Safety, if we land Jones. Backup QB, if space allows.

I see it as; The staff is not happy with the current position players and want to upgrade heart and talent. What few games I watched last year (2), I saw players quit and not even try. Complete chaos and disorganized effort reigned on offense and jogging on defense. Time to cut the dead weight and start a fresh.

How many OV's did we end up with this weekend? I know there were several kids visiting on their own dime also!

Chaos??? Lol. You are seeing the staff bring in talent where they can and some current playing weighing up their options with a new no nonsense staff (or in some cases, skills that might not fit, i.e., Lee) that isn't going to let work ethic slide and they opting out.

8+C Jones back on unofficial

There is some confusion if Williams and/or Dixon are counting in the OV numbers...hopefully they won' because we are WAY short (as in not enough to cover those this site is showing as scheduled and there are at least 4 more in the works possibly that aren't shown)

Williams doesn’t count, already enrolled. I would think Dixon’s OV will count against us.

Ya, the confusion with Williams boils down to who paid for the trip into Lincoln as I understand (you are right though that it appears his "visit" won't count)
