Imho, what we need with multi generations of sucky OLs are an OC and QB that can execute a quick-read quick-pass offense.

He needs to develop a fullback mentality while playing QB. He’s a stout dude and could hurt a corner. IMO Dana needs to have him run more RPOs and encourage him to run it more.
And has still taken less hits than Adrian Martinez did through the same number of games.
By design. I don’t know if it’s Dana’s design or if he’s playing like a guy worried about an injury before 2027’s draft.

I am talking about the alleged wear and tear on the body from playing in the Big Ten. Hits are hits.
Some of that was the center snaps and the wind. It stands to reason that a passing QB’s grade is going to be affected more by those factors than another position. DR and Evans both struggled.
Personally, I would prefer to have Martinez back this year. One of my all-time favorites.
