Hey guys-

I was out the other day and met someone that worked on getting the AC installed at the RAC. He told me the driving force to get it done was the Presidents Commencement speech.

If it was rained out, they would have needed to host him in the RAC and they needed to have an AC in place.

Found it pretty interesting.

Thanks, Obama!

Did we get Mexico to pay for it?

The commencement occurred before they removed those rows from Sec. 118.
BTW if Rutgers put a terrific product on the floor year-in year-out, the RAC would have been replaced 10 years ago and the AC installation would be a moot point.

The installation of AC was a much needed upgrade. However, it does absolutely nothing for fan experience during basketball season. I could count probably 2 or 3
games during my entire time of being a season ticket holder since the RAC opened where it was slightly hot. The AC was needed for activities from late April to early October.

I was there to pick up my season football tickets on a very warm day. Cool as the other side of the pillow.

The timing on this doesn't make sense. The White House announced Obama's graduation speaking plans only about a month before commencement. Construction of RAC air conditioning started a long time before that.

I must have been going to different games over the years. Glad to hear it is cool now. I always wear short sleeves no matter how cold it is outside. I always thought the Women's games were the hottest because Vivian thought it was an advantage. Didn't realize it was due to an outdated facility. Still think the RAC can be as hostile an environment to visiting teams as anywhere in the country if we can put a good product on the court which I believe will happen in the upcoming years.
