I thought Route 66 was 11th by TU? Is it not?
It 100% is but that image of the faux stadium expansion would definitely push the south end zone complex further south and into 11th St/Route 66...unless you build the stadium part as a tunnel underneath the bleachers

I think it would be awesome!

How TU fan-like it is to immediately start picking it apart before even considering how cool it would be.

Quik Trip, please put up the $$ & we will work out the details!
??

Questioning if we even have a need for this right now is not picking it apart. Jerry made a valid point.

That looks like SDSU’s snapdragon stadium.

I’d love for TU to have the resources and demand to build something new and nice similar to that!

I would settle for IPF first followed by bowled in south end zone and a tier of luxury indoor boxes over the full length of the east side that over hangs the current upper seats for sun and weather protection. I think the corporate demand for the inside boxes and the covering to encourage fans to the east side would be good for attendance and how attendance looks appearance wise on TV.

You’re definitely onto something with this. I would LOVE to see this happen. It would definitely get us away from the plain Jane stadium feel that we have now…

And while we’re at it, let’s connect the east side of the case center to the east side of the stadium for standing room only tickets. That way it’s all enclosed and would feel like a real college stadium.

Have you ever visited the Oklahoma Dome? Of course you haven’t. I attended the press conference and have a brochure of the proposed dome stadium from the mid 80s. Tulsa Mayor Terry Young shot down the idea before it could become a reality. So, the USFL Oklahoma Outlaws left Tulsa after the season for Phoenix and became the Arizona Outlaws. (At least we got to see Steve Young, Jim Kelly & other future NFL stars at Skelly Stadium for one season).

I believe an exciting idea should be answered with a yes!! Questions on how can be answered later.

That would be great.

I don’t know whatever happened to it but back in 2007-2008 when the remodel was completed I know there were future plans to bowl in the southside. To be clear I mean plans were made such that the remodel could support bowling it in at a future time. I don’t know the seriousness of that happening only that it was taken into consideration during the remodel.

Something like this would be one hell of a capital outlay, but it's nice to dream. If something like this ever happened they wouldn't be building the stadium. The family/company may make a contribution to the fundraising campaign and buy the naming rights.

The logistics of bowling in the stadium would have to be planned for construction to be done in the offseason for football.

We need to sell our stadium out. I wonder how many people on this board actually attend games. I have a feeling many sit here and ***** about attendance but they are a part of the problem, which means they shouldn't even talk because they don't even have an idea about the gameday and stadium experience.

Personally, I hate buying food, beer, and the bathrooms during half-times. I think it could be better That is my biggest beef. I also think that every stadium in America and the world has this issue so it is hard to make us really, really stand out.

Look at Colorado State's stadium. I love the end zone area to hang out and drink beer. Fat Tire paid up for it. https://csurams.com/facilities/canvas-stadium/17

I go to every single game, friend. Nothing wrong with aiming high. Plus most of us fully understand that none of the stadium upgrade stuff will never happen anyway.

I wonder how many posters actually bother to come to the games since snark is easier from the couch

Season ticket holder for 25 years.
Haven’t been to attend as many I want the last two seasons since my son is playing D2.
Was at the last one and will be at the next one.

In the 1940s, Delmer Curtis claimed to have taken an aerial photo of Skelly Stadium with a bowl-end in place. Looks good conceptually

I have my gold colored glasses on... I've always liked our stadium. It looks ESPECIALLY good when it's full (but not with OU / OSU fans).
