Mt Airy plays 1 3A and 3 2A's.
Pretty sure Starmount plays 1 3A and 3 2A's.
What upper level numbers do other of our 1A teams play?

(I know I could look up each and every one but why do that when I can just ask.)

I think that last year the first 1A team ER played was in the first round of playoffs. Can anyone confirm or correct that?

Correct. They play Easten Alamance who lost in first round to Southern Durham.

Mitchell plays McDowell this year and has played Watauga in the past.

Heritage plays Chase.

Robbinsville playing practically anyone is bigger school than them(same for most of the SMC), but still go further up to play Franklin, East Surry this year. Asheville, Brevard in past years.

Poor Polk and Cherryville got stuck in the meat grinder being put in split conference with Shelby and Burns.

EW has the usual. 4-2a schools. All in county schools and then Surry Central.

Heritage plays Chase, Erwin, Robbinsville and Hendersonville two 2a's a 3a and a really good 1a, Hendo and Erwin are always on our schedule, we also play two 2a's in conference but that ain't saying a whole lot

Mitchell always plays McDowell its a rivalry game of sorts but if Mitchell as a 1a loses to 4a McDowell that's a real bad year for Mitchell no offense to McDowell.

Robbinsville plays East Surry, Heritage, Franklin and Trion(GA) who looks like they are Class A but they went 11-1 last year and 9-3 the year before. They also play Copper Basin (TN)

Cherryville is in that confrence Polk is not there in a complete 2a conference everybody on Polks schedule last year and this year are 2a or bigger except maybe the 2 south carolina schools

Murphy plays 3 3A's (Franklin, Smoky, West Henderson) and a Heard Co. (GA) team that is A-D1, which is basically 2A in GA. For some reason GA has A-D1 and A-D2. Heard Co. has a little under 700 students.

Swain plays 3 3A's (Tuscola, Franklin, Smoky Mountain), a 2A (Madison), and Charlotte Country Day.

I highly doubt Murphy or Swain will struggle with Smoky or Franklin but kudos to Murphy for putting West on the schedule. West has a solid team.
