To rephrase that in a more constructive way: Padgett (for example) has clearly improved a lot since last season. 5 games into the season we, fans, don’t “know what we have” with anybody. There are clearly new and old arms the staff think are better options, and it’s probably because OJ still has the problem he’s had his whole time here—throwing strikes consistently. It’s tough for him, but in the grand scheme of things Glauber and Seagraves beating him out just means we have two righty power arms we can go to out of the bullpen. It would be good if OJ were reliable enough to go to, but he’s not in a niche we’re starving for options in.
