Because people keep reelecting them , people do not pay attention to actual actions & listen to great sound bites. Take all the foolish people who said they voted for Biden because Trump lied , none of them knew Biden dropped out in 1988 because he had been caught in to many lies.

Gunny, I truly don't know how honest he has been or how honest others have been i.e. lefties, righties, and unaffiliated. Like most politicians, they all push their agenda and will say or do whatever is necessary to achieve their goal. This Country was not founded to appease any political view, rather it was to insure that needs, rights, and desires were /are met with equality for all. Right now, we are struggling to maintain that goal. There is totally too much inefficiency being delivered via each side based on actions needed to preserve life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all American citizens.
You got one part correct. You’re right, the country was not founded to appease any party. However, it was also not founded to run and control Americans lives either. The role of government is supposed to be to protect Americans from foreign and/or domestic enemies and also to protect the rights of Americans according to our Bill of Rights, constitution and all laws already in place. In doing so, it meets all the criteria you mentioned; life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Government is not supposed to be legislating minimum wage laws, implementing socialized medicine, taxing Americans, giving money to foreign countries, and allowing illegal immigrants into the country and giving them money and the ability to remain here as non-US citizens, etc.
