Top two from each Conference will advance to regions, so there is eight. The conferences I know of are doing a first round Nov. 5 and then on Nov. 7 a two game playoff at the one-seed. So, 1 seed will play winner of 4/5 game at noonish, followed by 2 seed playing winner of 3/6 game at 2p.m. The winner of those two games will play at 5 p.m. or so.
As far as where regions are going to be played, I don't know. I hope they take seeding and recording into consideration. it would suck to be 16-2 and the one seed and then have to bus four hours because you are in the "East" or "West" regional. But I have a feeling that's going to happen.
It looks like from everything I could find on VHSL that the top two from regions wills go setting up a four team state. So there will be no state quarter, that in prior years was a school hosted game. So straight to Richmond with the states this year.
