One of the most physical games I’ve seen in a long time. People getting pummeled out there. You can see how this hurts the Big 10 though, fouls are stacking up quickly.

Yeah I’m watching too. Combo of really physical and over officiating. Competitive game which makes it interesting to watch but really choppy too.
Jealous of those out in Hawaii that can see such high level basketball over three days in a small venue. This double header tonight could easily be the types of games you’d see on Saturday at the Final Four.
That was a football game and the incessant referee whistles made for lousy basketball for most of the night. 76 fouls are you kidding me ? Edey looks good and his usual self but although Loyer had a career high 25 points and played well in spurts the rest of the team looked slow , methodical and no one to worry about. Gillis and First up front and Renn were not impressive at all. Height and athleticism bothered them and they shot terribly or turned the ball over. Jones is the one guy on Purdue that is athletic and we cannot let him get hot. Cliff v. Edey will be 2 wars. Our quicker guards have to take advantage against their guards. Supposedly and probably true that they are the BIG 10 ‘s best team but I am not totally impressed with them and it appears the rest of the BIG 10 is down as well. Should be an interesting conference season.
Yea this tournament is elite level teams. If Rutgers doesn't play in a legit tournament next year I might try to book a Hawaii vacation and see it. I've been meaning to get back to Hawaii anyway

The dream is some type of tropical tournament next year. I would be absolutely elated to see the most talented roster we have had while also taking a vacation. Atlantis, Maui and Baha Mar fields are set for 2024 already. Sadly, no Rutgers. We have to accept the fact that Pike just won't participate in these type of events.
I was going to mention this tournament over the Hawaii one as the one we should play in. Sucks it’s already set as living in the East coast this would be much more ideal
I’m always amazed how many empty seats there are at these tournaments. I understand these tropical locations are not hotbeds of college basketball, but it’s a shame that all these high level teams are playing in half empty venues.
BTW: it’s impressive how well the Purdue fan base travels. They always seem to have a large fan presence when they play at the RAC. Hopefully that won’t be the case this year.

My wife and I were in Iowa city last September on a Sunday morning. They had just won the day before and the number of fans all over the place was amazing. Breakfast as Perkins was like a fan meeting!
I don't think many of us can appreciate just how important these school teams are to the state psyche. We are in an area with pro teams all over the place, they are not. Absolutely no other choices.
Hopefully, Purdue will defeat Marquette and be ranked #1 next week. If that happens, Hobbs should immediately get the B1G to change the schedule so that Purdue visits the RAC for its next game. What an event that would be as RU goes for a 3-peat!
