Purdue (20-4, 10-3) visit Carver to face the Hawkeyes (18-6, 8-5).

Iowa is coming off a season worse performance against a hapless Maryland team. Purdue just knocked off Nebby in Lincoln.

I don’t like the Hawks at all today. Purdue went through a rough stretch two weeks ago but they shouldn’t have any problems pushing Iowa around.

I'll be there!
Been looking forward to this game all season. First real challenge at home vs a top team (they've struggled lately but they're PU who has been consistent as long as I have been alive for 40+ years). Students need to show up and the entire place needs to be rocking so Hawks can get off to a good start. I want Carver to sound like The Tom Davis era and before.

Start slow like we have pretty much all season that I’ve seen and we will be down 20 by half and the student section will start heading for the parties. We need to come out guns a blazing to have a chance.

i think Iowa will play well but fall short in the final minutes 78-72.

Hawks shot 53 percent in Mackey and hit 12 3 pointers. It was one of their best offensive games of the year and they still lost.

I just don’t think the Hawks have enough offensive firepower at this point to win these next 3 games. Unless other guys really step up in a big way. Hope I’m wrong.

which will then set up 2 must win games against OSU and PSU. Good news is Hawks will be desperate in those.

We got some crazy bounces on those 3's along with a banked 3 from Banks. At same time Purdue shot pretty well too. I'm worried about Purdues size. If we can keep the rebound margin within 5, and hit a higher percentage of 3s I like our chances but those are big questions.

Hawks could play better or play well these next 3 games and still lose. Some talent gaps they have to overcome.

And in many ways inevitable. Fans got too overly optimistic. If BM can get this roster (playing in the B10) into the NCAAT it wil be worthy of a raise and a tremendous success story for year 1. 20 regular season wins and 10 B10 wins will get them there. But I’m not totally convinced they can do it.

If Maryland can beat Iowa, if Minnesota can beat Michigan State . . . Iowa can beat Purdue. I'm not saying Iowa will win, but I am saying Iowa is only about a 3-point dog, and far, far stranger things have happened than Iowa beating PU today. I'm not ready to give up on this game or on this season yet. Let's have them play and see how it goes.

I totally agree with this. I wish I were a religious man and could start praying. I would be thrilled if we won. I won’t get mad if we did the way I did over the Maryland loss.

Personally, I have no faith today. Woke up with a terrible feeling. Our defense has been getting progressively worse and we generate almost zero offense outside of Bennett. Iowa needs this one in the worst way, but we, seemingly in almost any Men's sport, cannot beat those who are better than us. I want to be wrong so badly though.

As a super casual Iowa BB fan, I’d say at this point in the season every win is icing on the cake. Iowa Is gonna make the dance and that’s an achievement in itself. Hopefully this is the beginning of a resurgence of this program that has been mostly dogshit for over 20 years.
