Cooley has done an amazing job this year with a team that is last in the BIg east in three point shooting.

Providence ended up 29-33 from line. RU has to get much better from the line.

Dunn was a big time recruit. They had a monster class a few years back. Talented team plus a coach that they listen to. Translates into a NCAA invite with the potential to do damage once they arrive.

Henton kid is also very good------interesting to see if Dunn stays.

You knew the second all the RU fans started to rave about Providence that they would respond with a bad loss.

Cooley interviewed at RU but we chose Mike Rice instead. One year later he took the Providence job.

can you imagine if Tim hired Cooley instead of Rice ? We'd be in a much different situation right now.

With modest success at Rutgers, Cooley might have bailed for Providence. Providence pays their coaches real Div-1 money and Cooley is a Providence native. And the school has a colorful and rich basketball tradition with hardcore fans who show up for games every year. In some ways very similar to Dayton's program.

He has done a really good job this year considering he really has no two guard. Josh Fortune transferred out at the last minute last year and kind of left a hole that could not be replaced at the last minute. Dunn and Henton are really good players but the lack of an outside shooter has really hurt. They may be able to win a game or two with the right match up in the tournament. But a team with a good zone defense could really give them trouble. He has another pretty good recruiting class coming in next year. Rumor is Dunn is staying another year but I will believe it when I see it.
