Pressing Defense was Amazing

The effort and execution on the pressing defense were outstanding.
RU forced 7 turnovers in 3 minutes, 21 for the game, and scored 31 points off turnovers.

Now if their half-court defense was even close to that, it would have been a different season.

OR had they used the press more often during the season and throughout games.
We rotated about 10 guys every game and should have had energy to do this all the time.
I just found out from watching this staff over the years that when something is working they need to change it. Someone goes on a hot streak…bench

We should’ve been pressing all season long on and off. Full stop. It was obvious to me even from the few possessions we pressed vs Minny. I agree with what some others said. Dylan looked out of shape after pressing for a while. That was part of the problem. Frequent pressing wouldn’t have suited his style.

I’ll say again that I truly hope we’re recruiting with an intent to move in this direction next season. If we’re not going to have a true “bull dozer type “rim protector”, press is the best way to still be good at defense and Pike has always coached the press well when he has the kids to implement it.
