Nope! Muscat is on the Indian Ocean..humidity was probably around the 85% range. Dry heat is much better, as the saying goes.

120° is the highest recorded temp. in Texas. Happened twice: 1936/Seymour and 1994/Monohans. One summer in the '80's in Wichita Falls we went 45 straight days with a high of at least 105°. One day it hit 118°.
