Mickey played here and is familiar with Nebraska … he knows which itches to scratch

saavy response
Or, possibly Brody is a good football player? The quote isn't just from Mickey. But you knew that anyway, right?

"Guy who keeps coming up, from the QB, from the ST coach, from the WRs coach"

I’ve never understood the snide comments about him getting some snaps. He might not be a game breaker, but it obvious to me he is a player. Has some shimmy when he runs and runs hard. Catches the ball well and seems to be open. And he’s tough. Having guys in the team the work hard and maybe show the higher rated recruits how they need to work is another added bonus.
Good for him, for getting noticed.

Really? You can't think of one reason why he is getting snide comments as a skill position player? Not one?

I personally think he looks like a cross between Rex Burkhead, Jordan Westerkamp, and Nate Swift.

All deceptively fast.

Where did this weird idea that higher ranked players "don't work hard" come from?
It is so out of touch with reality. I have coached different sports for years and I can count on two hands the super gifted players I had that didn't work hard. Pretty much all my best players also worked hard, were really good teammates, were good in class and always in the weightroom.

I am happy for Brody if he is our best player. But I’m afraid it’s a tallest midget contest, or smartest grocery bagger situation

Who said he is our best player?
Joseph said "he's probably the best football player on our team". There are just some guys who you can put at multiple positions and they can get the job done. He's not deceptively fast. He's just plain fast. Can play all of the WR spots, RB and has spent time at DB. Just a really good smart football player. Tom used to use guys like him at wingback. Dave Leigel, Shane Swanson etc.

Maybe the most versatile, but not the best player at any one position, probably not even close.

I always used to say that Quincy Enunwa was one of our best players if not the best football player on our team. The guy destroyed people when given the opportunity to tackle. Great blocker, very good tackler, big WR. He could have easily added 20 lbs and played TE and sure as hell could have played linebacker or maybe safety. Some said he could have played RB as well. Granted he wasn't Suh or Helu at their position, but Q was just a great football player.

Betts, Manning, Palmer, Martin, Alante, and the kid from NM (who is not practicing right now). Belt is going to get snaps if the younger WRs don’t show up. Coaches appreciate players that show up knowing what they’re doing.

Listened to clips of Bill Busch on sports nightly tonight and like what I heard. "I want to see one of 2 signals. First down Nebraska or touchdown Nebraska ". Also had to laugh at this," I asked who wants to return kickoffs? 30 guys raised their hands. I asked who wants to return punts? 3 guys raised their hands. My favorite 3 people in the world is 1) my wife, 2) my family (I think) and 3) punt returners. Those guys are dudes. "

Wasn’t Busch the ST coordinator during the Santino Panico era?

Who said he is our best player?
Mickey Joseph…. Starting this thread…
Guy who keeps coming up, from the QB, from the ST coach, from the WRs coach: Brody Belt. Mickey Joseph said, "Brody's a football player. Brody's probably the best football player on this team. Overall when you're talking about a football player..." Smart. Can play all positions.
