I know he had a couple of close wins and lost one match but after watching he's improvement this year; I believe that as far as technique is concerned, Keegan is the best wrestler on the team. I used to think it was Kaid but seeing his continued troubles on bottom I can only think of one thing: Nathan Morgan.

Keegan can do it all; he's great on his feet whether it's going upper body or a low single to make John Smith proud. He's very hard to take down even when he's given up his leg. He's a competent if not great rider who can ride when he needs the point and efficiently gets off the bottom.

If he realizes how good he is and decides to wrestle start to finish he will surprise a few people at nationals.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and pick Boo as my #2 Technician. He seems a little undersized but is great on his feet and I love the move he does that Jake Rosholt used to use where from a tie-up he pulls the head to the left with his right arm and grabs the left ankle with his left hand (or vise verse); I don't know what it is called.

Chandler is so much fun to watch, you just never know what he is going to do next. It seems to me that both of the take downs he gave up in the finals, he just gave to the guy. If he could wrestle in a controlled style he could be great; but not as much fun.

It is a joy to watch Derek White wrestle. He looks like a kid that is continually getting away with something he's now suppose to be doing; I love it. Every time I see him wrestle I'm reminded of something Coach Smith said about him in an interview, "Derek always thinks he's doing the right thing, even when he isn't."

Uninjured; Smith and Weigle would have won out. Pic looked solid, nobody wrestled harder than Moran and my heart goes out to Dean. He wrestled solidly but Meredith is a very good wrestler. I hope he comes through at nationals, not for us but for himself.

OU and ISU have fallen far and it's sad to see. No complaints to the wrestler's or coaches behavior as in sometimes past but Zadick looks like a mad man.

Last thing; All around worst Coach and worst fans: Sammie Henson and his goon squad, fans from West Virginia. Sammie has instilled them with his no class style. We Weigle lost to their wrestler, their fans were absolutely be-utches. The whole group had left by the time one of their wrestlers had received his award a 197; totally devoid of class.

Good thoughts. I will add that I was really impressed with Kaid in the finals. Gross is just an absolute freak of nature for that weight. I thought Kaid was hitting some high level stuff. I feel like if Kaid wrestles like that against anyone else at that weight not named Gross he runs through them yesterday. I honestly don't know how you gameplan for Gross. You do everything right and you still end up either getting nothing or giving up two off great shots.

I think everyone wrestled to seed or better besides 197. It wasn't perfect but we have a pretty good tournament. Hopefully the momentum carries over to NCAAs and we can find a way to get on the podium.

We wrestled well. If we can all be healthy in Cleveland I believe we will come home with a trophy. GO POKES

Agreed; Kaid and Jacobe (to a lesser extent Preston) went to a leg attack and lost when they had shown that upper body was what was going to win the match. Kaid simple can't roll around with Gross and Jacobe on a bad leg is in the same spot. Maybe it wasn't their "gameplan" but it was what was working.

I don't know. I said earlier, if they really want to content next year they have to have some guys prove they've jumped a level at nationals this year. So far all we've seen is that Boo proved he could now be at that higher level. Again, Kaid and Dean are right there anyway. Its still needed from guys like Picc, Smith, Rogers, Moore, Weigel & White. Picc and White might be there but haven't faced the guys to prove it. No telling if Smith & Weigel can now. Rogers, I still don't know, looked great early but then let the guy back in the match, 165 gonna be a tough weight class if you can't keep the same pace for 7 min. But Moore imo hasn't show it. That was a sloppy looking match against Foster where I wouldn't expect either of those guys to AA wrestling like that. Everyone has to learn to wrestle under the new rules. My recollection was Moore getting the stalling calls cost him 2 points in the 1st. One for stalling and the second cause it put him in position where he couldn't drop to the ankle to protect against the escape the last 8 seconds. He couldn't ride Foster out for 8 seconds! Its the little things that'll make a difference getting on the podium in 2 weeks.

Thought the whole team wrestled well. Just going to add that while it was nice to see (undersized) Tristan get a chance to wrestle, it really was a shame that Jonce couldn't. Saw coach Smith say the injury was just too severe and that he didn't want to end up carrying him off the mat. Kid finally got his opportunity this year as a starter only to get hurt 3 weeks before the post season. Sucks. I don't see Joe making 157, so hopefully he heals up, bulks up, and battles for the spot next year.
