Me too. I like Reagan, but just thought this woulda been a bad matchup
Cold and windy night with Reagan determined to keep it on the ground and shorten the game. Coach decided to shorten the game as well and ran the ball a lot. Three possessions each in 1st half and Whirlies up 10-7 at the break. Evans ran the ball effectively and managed a Raider score. I looked at my watch and 1st half was over at 7:49.
Second half, Reagan receives and run game stuffed by solid halftime adjustments. (Grimsley won toss and elected to receive so as to have wind at their back in 4th.) QB Brandon finds big plays in pass game and mixes in the run. 24-7 in early 4th and no way that Reagan could ‘rush’back into the game.
Kudos to Reagan’s defensive front 7 and O-line. Soph RB Joe Evans, Jr. is the future problem to solve in the CPC.
Weddington coming to Jamieson on Friday. It’ll be must see football.
I could see Joe Evans, Jr making it big in college and even making the NFL if he keeps at the rate he’s doing. I’ve even heard someone say watch he probably transfer to Grimsley. That‘s wait to seen. But anyway if he stays for Reagan or transfers to another school he will be a problem to other teams defense.
I think he transferred before he started his freshman year but he's supposed to be in a neighboring county to the west like a few in Forsyth are.
