What's your take. I had my DVR set to record but for crazy reason it did not. Caught bits and pieces here this morning.

What's your thoughts? I didn't see enough of him to make a judgement. Big kid.

From what I saw he took up a lot of space which is good for the 3-4. Not the fastest d-lineman but the biggest on his team. Good instincts (recovered a fumble). I think we give him a spot if he wants to come. Can be very good in 2-3 years.

Sounds like they're looking at him as a prototypical NG, so fast isn't necessarily a need. Just needs to play low, be strong as hell, and eat up double teams. With Daniels' brother coming in and Thomas getting a RS year, it really allows Pola-Mao to take a redshirt year and bulk up. Will be very nice to arrive at the place where guys in the front 7 are almost always redshirting.

Rumor is he’s had some injury issues for 2 years and played this year possibly not at 100%.
I remember from his film his attacking penetration didn’t stand out as much as his hustle running plays down from behind. Gotta like that kind of effort from a big dude.
It’s important we get a young NT to develop next couple years.

You thinking Deontre Thomas will move inside? I think he’s a victim of being a little bit of a tweener NT/DE like the Davis twins, but I really like his potential. If he could be big enough and play stout at NT then I like where we’re at much more at that position.

This tells me Pola Mao is pretty much a lock as long as staff accept him, which I’m sort of guessing was promised to NPG.

“I haven’t played with Matthew since we were in youth football and that would be big for both of us,” Pola-Gates said. “We’ve got another cousin headed there to play softball and have some family in Omaha. We have been thinking and hoping to play together at the next level for a long time. We are like brothers. We’ll see how he likes things out there when he takes his official visit.” *quoted from 247

I've heard that he was dealing with some injury problems this year. (Not sure of the whole story)

I saw him make a few good plays last night but I also saw him get pancaked one play. I'd say he's walking into an ideal situation where he can Red Shirt his 1st year (due to Darrion Daniels) and develop in the S&C program. He can then add depth the next 1 or 2 years behind Damion Daniels and take over his Jr. year and be the man.

Thought he played pretty well from what I seen. There were a couple of plays where he was abused but he did his job quite often. He did well breaking off of blockers to pursuit the ball and often took on a double teams. He had a nice fumble recovery early on in that game as well. I don’t think he could come in and start tomorrow but could be the future at that position for sure. The defense he played on in that game was the difference.

From what little i saw of poly bowl, he didn't put much effort in chasing a plays. Big deal? Maybe not. Didn't get to see the whole thing so can't judge the whole product. Think his size would be perfect for nt. Little shorter for leverage suits me just fine.

He’ll be a good project for Duval. His 2018 Hudl shows him running down plays from behind/lateral.

Out of curiousity I watched 2017 film and he’s a OG tossing/pancaking smaller guys. Entertaining in it’s own way.
