Best time of year is officially here! Not much better than HS playoffs in Nebraska. I have no dog in this fight, I just thoroughly enjoy making predictions and watching the games unfold. I'll be more than happy to eat my words if a team proves me wrong, good luck to all teams!
CLASS A
Burke walks to semifinals, narrowly defeats Omaha Westside in the semis. On the other side, one of the best match-ups of the playoffs happens in the second round when Bellevue West takes on Lincoln High. B. West gets the win and goes on to defeat Omaha North, who pounds Grand Island and beats Millard South by 2 TD's, in the semis, then takes the crown over Burke 42-30.
CLASS B
Skutt gets to the semis easily, runs into McCook but still come out with a 1 or 2 point win. York gets to the semis with a very close win over Seward, where they meet Scottsbluff. Scottsbluff ruins York's chance for back2back titles, but Skutt ultimately beats Scottsbluff by one TD in the championship. Skutt 32-28
CLASS C-1
Nobody touches Aurora or Pierce. They will meet in the championship, where Pierce is going to stick around for 3 quarters, but Aurora's air raid will pull them away. Aurora 48-28.
CLASS C-2
Class C-2 has the potential to be one of the most up and down/entertaining classes in the playoffs. Centennial gets to the semis with and easy win over NPSP and a very close game with underdog BRLD. They'll face Wilber-Clatonia in the semis, who gets tested by North Bend at home, and crushes Shelby-Rising City, who pulls the upset on Oakland-Craig in the first round. On the other side, it will be a traditional semi-final pitting David City Aquinas vs. Norfolk Catholic, where NC prevails. NC's experience in Lincoln gives them the title 26-24.
CLASS D-1
Simply basing this off of records, it seems as if the East will be 2x as competitive as the West will be. I think Burwell will find their way back to Lincoln after being there in 2016. They'll get through the first 3 rounds with no problems, where Dundy County-Stratton will give them a run for their money in the semi's, but Burwell still gets it done. On the east side, Creighton gets to the semi-finals by barely squeaking by LHNE, who wears down BDS in the 2nd round with their potent offense. A classic GACC vs. Howells-Dodge matchup happens in the 2nd round, where Howells gets the job done this time, but falls short in the quarters vs. EMF. Creighton breaks their semi-final curse, gets to Lincoln and hands it to Burwell 54-18.
CLASS D-2
In the west, I think Clearwater/Orchard and Mullen get to the semis fairly easily, where Clearwater squeaks out a victory to get to Lincoln. In the east, Johnson-Brock walks to the semis, where they'll meet FCSH. FCSH gets the revenge win, and they continue their perfect record in Lincoln with another state title. FCSH 34-18

What're your predictions?

I don't see Dundy getting to the semis, I'm not sure they'll get out of the first round.

South Loup. I watched Cambridge a couple weeks ago, I wouldn't count them out. Very explosive offense, and a physical defense. Evidently early in the season they were still adjusting to a new coach?
