I'd say they're definitely in with a win.

Hard to believe. Fouls to give and Shrita Parker canning free throws to win....sweet.
Perfect TV angle from under the Nebraska rim when Hollivay has fouled with a few seconds left and is having her "Oh Damn" moment before she realized that RU had 2 fouls to give. On the replay Coach Stringer is in the back of the frame mouthing an F Bomb. Nice win on the road.

Any of the 5 through 10 seeds could beat any other 5 through 10
as was evidenced by yesterdays results. Made for some really good games this year.
Was great to see a fourth quarter comeback win as we have more often been the victim
of those events this year. But an 11 point second quarter followed by a 12 point third quarter
will usually be a loss. Problematic scoring droughts all season long.
Odd that we scored as many points in the first quarter as we did in the 2nd and 3rd combined.
But live to fight another day. And Ohio State has lost two in a row.

I wouldn't say definitely in at all. I would say smack on the bubble 50/50 could go either way. If it came down to Rutgers or Minnesota they will pick Minnesota because of Banham. I still would want RU in the finals so its academic

I completely get the view that the committee wants Banham in, but her team's argument for a berth just isn't very good. Minnesota has an RPI in the high 70s, an SOS in the mid-70s, 6 RPI top 100 wins, a losing record v. RPI 51-100 teams and 2 RPI 100+ losses, not to mention an ugly loss to the RPI 113 team to end the season. RU has a better RPI by a lot, a better SOS by a lot (and just one win less than Minnesota), 7 RPI top 100 wins and zero RPI 100+ losses.

Edited to add: (1) Not saying RU gets in today, just that RU's case is better than Minnesota's in nearly every way.

(2) All of this is as of right now. A win today would give RU the same number of wins as Minny, an even bigger gap in RPI and SOS, one more RPI top 25 win (and obviously, RPI top 100 win) than today and, possibly most important, a really good impression for the committee going into the decision-making process.

Northwestern wins as # 12 seed over # 4 seed Indiana. Maryland breezes through to the finals on top side. We can't go into scoring drought or we get our butts kicked.

Good for Joe McK, although he's still not taking that team to the NCAAs unless a miracle happens.

I'll ask it again...if they don't put RU in who are they going to match UConn up against in the 2nd round? ;)
Maybe Seton Hall or Princeton. What does it matter when everybody knows UConn will once again be playing for another national championship.

If they had won this game, I was going to start a thread titled, "Storrs Here We Come"

But what it really did for him (at least the first 2 wins) was get him in the WNIT if he chooses to go. He came in under .500 by 1 game, if I heard correctly.

The first conference tournament win probably got them a WNIT bid, as it put them at 17-15. This one certainly assures one.

They came in at 15 and 15. Now 18-15 I think after 3 wins. That said, the announcers incorrectly said they came in under .500, although I'm not sure of the exact WNIT rule. I assumed if they lost their first tourney game (15-16) they wouldn't get in. Don't know if that's true.

That said, you are correct that only the first win was needed; at 16-15, they would have been at worst .500 on the season.
