This could be a game to watch next week. Starmount offense seems to be on a roll. Don't knowing anything about Pine Lake Prep. Any thoughts?

Don’t know nothing about Pine Lake Prep, but Starmount’s Zack Dezern is coming off back-to-back huge games with 564 rushing with 10 touchdowns, a passing TD, a receiving TD, and a 100-yard INT TD in the last two games.
Starmount started out with an impressive East Surry squad, pine lake prep is 2-0 and starmount winning their last two both are hot going into friday
My daughter teaches at Lake Norman, one of several feeder schools to Pine Lake Prep LOL, and spend my retirement time watching high school football, mostly Mt Airy. Having said that I really like Coach Grifton and hope he continues to find ways to build Starmount.. Go Rams!

We know the schools from our area, it’s always hard to judge these prep and community schools like you said they pull kids from everywhere. But with that being said Starmount is old and athletic this year hopefully it shapes up for a great conference battle between them and the bears

Csd beat Bessemer by over 40 and plp beat Bessemer by 21 so if that’s any indication you are probably right
Without a doubt I knew East should be solid but they really looked bad in the 7 on 7 with starmount and yes I know how pointless the 7 on 7s are for our conference. But East has come out on fire without a doubt, been a weak schedule so far but they’ve won the games like they should
The concerning thing with them is the schedule you are right. Plus they get Mount airy don't they next week? In Mt airy. Then starmount. Whew. Two physically dominating teams. Last year it blew up their season. Prob do the same this year.
Starmount seems to be doing fine after getting shellacked by East Surry. EW has to have a good showing against WC. Mt. Airy is MA. EW has the potential to play the Rams better than last year. Starmount and EW are just a potential injury away from being way less competitive. Neither are anywhere near as deep as MA. I watched the Rams against ES. Although ES was phenomenal, the Rams looked to be sollid but definitely not head and shoulders above EW. They did annihilate Forbush. I wasn't shocked about that. Thomasville should do the same thing. East Surry started the derailment last year for EW. Covid opened up a date. EW replaced NW with East Surry. The Graham kid got hurt the 1st series of the game. It was downhill from then on.

Yeah. I heard they rushed him back against Mount airy and he got hurt again. Is he still playing for Wilkes Central this year?
East Wilkes played East surry very competitive with graham on the field he’s a difference maker in 1A football. Starmount started out very hot against East surry but was outmatched bad with numbers. East surry is bigger and faster and can sub half the team out on offense and defense. 1A schools have a hard time competing with that. Starmount EW and MA would all be 2nd 3rd and 4th in East surry conference which is still impressive for 1A schools
yeah he's at WC. This game between EW/WC could be a season defining game for EW. Styles make fights, and EW style wise historically hasn't matched up well with WC. On a side note, I see a high scoring game for the Rams again Fri Night.
I’ve thought for 3 years now EW has the most underrated QB in the conference. Briggs can play
The EW/WC game will definitely be a better measuring stick for them than the games they’ve played so far
This is very much a trap game for Starmount. They are on a high they haven't experienced in 4 years since that playoff run. They fought to beat a private school with solid athletes which is never easy; then they had the ultimate victory over Forbush which was equivalent to killing one of their demons. Things like that doesn't come easy but they did it so with beauty. They have MA in 3 weeks as well plus Elkin too in regards to big games.
It would be very easy to sleep on Pine Lake. PLP hasn't really set the world on fire; two 21-0 wins is solid but who they played wasn't much of an indicator. They could easily be a solid team for all we know. Coach Trotter does a great job every year and is a class dude. They will be ready to thud.

CSD was better than expected they had very good athletes and a killer passing game. Forbush is bad and Starmount beat them like a drum in every aspect of the game. You are right PLP cant be over looked but if starmount brings the team that just played Forbush I think they should be fine
East Surry won the Mt Airy game! 14 to 12. No doubt.
But the fact is, Mt Airy had 3 starts on the sideline not in uniform. Those 3 and one more were out against Surry Central. Who knows what would have, could have, etc.
I hope East goes all the way. But somebody better put their big boy pants on when they come to play or host Mt Airy.

Only a few have a legitimate shot at MA, mainly Mitchell, Robbinsville, Thomasville, North Rowan..may be the ones to give MA all they want. MA's history for being undisciplined once they are smacked around a lil may have some say so as well... MA will be a tough out for anyone in 1a.

If Andrews were to beat Mitchell this weekend it will shake everything up a lot. I think the 1A west is the best side to watch just because there is a legit 4-5 teams that could possibly come out of it and most regions can’t say that
I look forward to the game with Starmount. If Dezern can get free it will be a game. Just don't think it will happen. I do expect a tough game. Always is with the Rams
I hope it’s a great game. MA has a few more pure athletes but starmount is very old, hopefully it makes for a good game. The first half of the playoff game last year was looking like a classic but MA dominated the second half
Starmount didnt play their starters in the second half of the east surry game. MA played ES way better than Starmount ill give it to you, itll be closer than you think
i for one hope it is closer than I think it will. Why? Fire makes iron stronger. And Mt Airy needs to have more East Surry type tough games than Surry Central cake walks.
Why would you not play your starters in the second half. If it was a close game why would you not play them? I'm pretty sure stormount did play their starters in the second half. If it's the game that I saw they definitely did. Regardless of when they played that team doesn't look anywhere close to being the same team as last year. But like I said I hope they're good they need to give my area good football game. Being frank with you orange I'm not sure they're going to give Mount airy any better of a game than East Wilkes-Will. That was a pathetic looking defensive show. And yeah their starters were still in the game in the third quarter. I find it funny that you would say that whem we took our starters out halfway through the 3rd and still laid the wood to you. Anyway I hope they get better I would like to see them play a tough game against Mount airy. But they better keep their head on a swivel for East Wilkes.
Because it wasnt a close game es was up by 30 at half and starmount didnt do anything at the start of the third either. The game was over at that point, starmount plays 15 kids at most both ways because they have to. No point in getting players hurt in a game at that point means nothing to starmounts season. I dont know what your point is.... East surry beat the breaks off starmount in every aspect of the game, starmount quit before the second quarter even started which scares me the most abt starmount cause i would have loved to seen more heart out of them than what they showed. Same thing happened last year against ma in the playoffs. 7 to 7 at half ball bounces bad one play and starmount then gives up four touchdowns in the 3rd quarter alone. That is a grit and heart issue not a skill issue. And your EW point ive not argued with yet so i dont know why you are so defensive abt them. Theyve played well so far but against very sub par teams, starmount is returning 9 out of 11 starters on offense and defense and EW never had a chance against them last year so i dont know why that would change this year. Yes "yall" laid the wood to us though i dont remember seeing you in a uniform
I saw the majority of the Starmount players in the second half. They did sub in the fourth quarter.
when i say the starters i mean 5 or 6 from both sides of the ball, if starmount pulled every starter itd be nothing but a jv game because they dont have the numbers
EW and Starmount should be a good game. MA beat the rams by 50 or so the 1st game last year..but struggled with them in the playoffs...so it's not always that past results equal future results with teenagers. EW would have fared just as good or bad against ES...so both teams EW and the Rams should be a good game...depending on which teams show up....again we're talking about teenagers...

STM played good 1 st half with DEzern running out of QB position as starter was hurt give some issues.
Back to Pine Lake Prep...it will be an interesting match-up. The teams were supposed to play at PLP last year, but Covid affected that game. Starmount has gotten some positive momentum heading into the match-up Friday night.
MA was the better team and still is the better overall team. After half of that playoff game MA coaches let stroup and Penn take over and starmount couldn’t stop them
