I have not listened to this, because I do not want to risk waking my wife up, but I think this is Pikiell's post-Illinois press conference from last night. If it is not, let me know and I will take this down.

He acknowledged that the team did nothing right, so I’m guessing he’s starting to become realistic with what he has. He seems frustrated and lost…kind of like an Eddie Jordan post game.. It doesn’t surprise me that there is no progress with Geo but he gives the impression that he hasn’t even talked with him. Basically, a mess.

Anything to read in to about Geo?

Sounds very Echenique like
I refuse to listen, as for Geo.
I have to assume many on this board played a sport competitively at some point in your lives.
If his injury is a hamstring tear or pull, it’s black and blue and he won’t be playing for a month.
There’s no such think a mild Hammy injury.

Wise move. There is not much there. Same mantra we need and will get better. He did acknowledge they dribble too much offensively.

They shot 14-51 from 2 PT range is all that needs to be said. This remind me of that first @ Michigan St. game in 2019-20. Not one of the Guards/Wings were getting foul calls on layups or jumpers, they let it affect their entire game, Yeboah scored 17 pts, on 6-9, 2-3 shooting, that night in a 77-65 loss, without Yeboah that game isn't close. Last night, there was no Yeboah to keep it close.

It looks a lot worse to me than just missing shots.
It looks like a chaotic out of sync, disorganized mess before the shots are taken.

It can’t be ‘out of sync’ if there never was ‘sync’. Half court offense has been terrible for years and yesterday was rock bottom.

Well, can we assume that he no longer thinks this is his "best" team?
We looked like a poor mid-major team that was paid plenty to come and warm up the big boys.

No need for any more postgame pressers this year. Just play this one over and over again after each of the next 20 B10 losses.

No plan,no changes in offense, just the same old vague rhetoric. Yeah, " we have to get better." No kidding.

Just wake us up, Coach, when you have something meaningful to say.

Geo is done. He will never be the player he once was, not in this short of a time. Hamstrings are terrible. I saw a teammate miss two years once because of it.

As to Pike. “I am concerned where our defense is too. If we can't score than they can't score. That has always been our motto.

Your motto sucks. They do score.

Let’s not count on Geo anytime soon. The hamstring injury is still in the resting and rehab phase.

The team on the floor last night is the team going forward. That group needs to improve in a big way before we see better results.

Pike seemed shook up in that presser. Looks like he realizes the problems he faces.

Bad spot for us vs Purdue on Thursday at the RAC. May want to leave the women and children at home that night.

I hurt my hamstring running (jogging) a few weeks ago. He should resting it until he is 100%. I think that is black and white.

Pike not having an idea has me really pause. That needs to be clarified ASAP. It is easy to take that as he has quit.

You have got to be kidding. This board is a complete cesspool. The lengths people will go to try to assassinate this kid’s character or are willing to make up or believe anything to try to put him in a bad light is sickening.

To quote JY. Out.

Maybe we should just tune Pikiell out entirely but "I haven't seen him practice" has a different connotation than "he hasn't been able to practice." To me, anyway.

Any player “out” has zero to do with this board or the tremendous game day atmosphere our fanatic fans create at the RAC.
If Pike couldn’t build on our home venue and two NCAA appearances, it’s his fault.
We have awesome fans

I’m not here to bash Pike and I desperately want him to succeed. That said, his misguided pre-season hyperbole was in hindsight, outrageous, and severely detracts from his credibility. What was he possibly been thinking when spewing that nonsense??

Many on here pass his inflated evaluation of his team as coach speak, but what he said was the furthest thing from it.
I honestly think he believed what he was saying which makes it all a bit scary.

100 percent. He never said this in years past. He was truly honest and believed it.
I think he thought Harper snd baker would be dominating players in the BIG with an athletic center in Cliff.

In fairness, Pikiell's evaluation came before the loss of Geo. I'm sure you agree that hurts a lot (although things were shaky even before he got hurt in the Lafayette game). And I completely believe you when you say that a hamstring injury is difficult to recover from.

It’s scary bc he viewed his team chemistry as the reason his team was best ever, and his “Best team“ aka everyone likes each other, has the same mindset team first, and Chemistry is great, is more important than talent. Too bad the lack of talent is shining through, and as most know, talent wins 90 percent of the time

Rutgers lost to Lafayette and Depaul and went to overtime with Lehigh with Geo on the floor. That's not an excuse

Maybe Geo needs to take some time away from the team to work on his lucrative t-shirt business and activism?

Yes, but my friend is an assistant on 'Nova and tells me our team played well against them. Not sure why we played well in the scrimmages but are really sucking now. I really feared the losses of Myles and Jacob (even though most thought Jacob was gone as a 5th year senior) would hurt us this year. We never replaced either important player.

Actually, to be accurate Geo got hurt in the 2nd half of the Lafayette game (with 8 min, left IIRC) and did not play in crunch time.
We beat Lafayette had Geo not been hurt. Not that it’s anything to boast about.
