Said his first hire was Strength & Conditioning Coach Dave Van Dyke. Not reported anywhere before from what I have read.

Mentioned Karl Hobbs joining staff, didn't mention anyone else by name. Doesn't look like finalizing staff is imminent, talked about doing so in the next "few weeks".
All avenues juco, transfers, etc. on table to fill out roster.

Some tidbits---much better than the Beningo interview, but still spoke in very general terms. Tough not to, given roster and staff aren't complete, and NCAA restrictions

Dodged Bullock question, obviously can't talk til LOI signed, spoke generally about recruiting
Transfers, said he is looking at every avenue but wants to recruit versatile players That embrace the challenge, and kids with upside
Patience, coach said they want to be competitive right away, he's impatient, wants to win right away, said they will be one of the better rebounding and defensive teams

Pretty generic as he had to be. Good to see he did not fall into the trap question about an unsigned recruit. That was pretty savvy. Did not give all the buzz words about driving up and down the Turnpike dreaming about Rutgers. It's nice to be getting past that.
I certainly enjoyed listening to coach. MCKnight gave a very good summary. I am excited because Steve Pikiell seems to really get it. He wants to win and he sounds so positive. He believes we will play very good defense and will rebound and that we will find good players. He is a breath of fresh air. He did say that he hopes to finalize the staff over the next couple of weeks. I think we are moving in the right direction. Thank you to MCKnight for announcing that coach would be on WFAN otherwise I would not have known or heard the segment.
Don't let this board hear that he will target or sign "kids with upside", they will turn on Pikiell real quick.....especially NJHoops who thinks a guy can't gain weight and will remain at 195 for 4 years or 5 years.........lol, jk

Pikiell already got his first guy with upside in Bullock. If he gets more guys that fit into his plans and are deemed to have "a lot of upside", he will have 100% of my support.

I agree. Now days you can call someone out, insult etc but you think putting lol or jk after it makes it all good.
I think the standard here is to add "buddy", or "my friend" to the end of the insult.
On this message board there are far more insults than wins for the mens basketball team since joining the B1G.
Agreed. Calling out posters over personal nitpicks is immature, as is the assumption that the j/k means no one is allowed to take it personally.
Plus in this particular instance it would seem like this very trivial conflict should be left in the past along with the Jordan era.

The bar is Really Low for what is considered an insult these days and you are talking about a guy who endured never ending "insults" because it was my opinion the former coach should get another year with a full roster. So many of those insults came from the guy(s) complaining in this thread. Good thing I don't have thin skin....I would be in a rubber room by now.
