I saw online that Coach hosted a dinner with the boosters and high rollers tonight. Anyone on here attend? Any news or tid bits to share? Thanks in advance!

No real news. Hobbs and Pikiell spoke briefly. They're excited and energized. We're going to win (eventually). They need our support.

Also, construction plans for the practice facility are moving forward.

It was not dinner. It was just hor'douvres and drinks at fiddlers. Typical country club fare.

Spoke to the coaches tonite at the meet and greet. Coach Pikell said we are going to press, play defense and we will rebound. Coach Knight and Coach Petrone spoke about honesty when dealing with recruits. They all said its all about relationships. They all are impressive, I believe better days are ahead.

This event was hosted by Jason and his wife Debbie. I can't remember their names. But kudos to them for this wonderful gesture.

I was looking forward to going but had to cancel last minute. Hoping Coach Pikiell speaks at a preseason Court Club appearance. Press / defense / rebounding is music to my ears.

My preferred style of play. Fast pace and up and down the floor. Until things pick up, Pikiell just needs to find those under the radar kids ready to embrace the challenge.

Under the radar kids didn't get the job done in the Big East and the AAC and the same results apply to the B1G.The answer always has been higher level talent that previous head coaches failed to recruit or subsequently transferred after playing for Rutgers.

Their names are on the invitation - not that difficult to find - Newcomb. And, yes, it was VERY generous of them and a great event.

The greatest thing about the new revolution in the NBA lead by the Warriors is the emphasis on building a team, rather than just rolling out talent.

Rolling the ball out with hyper talented players will only get you so far. System based players are preferable. The more talented the better of course, but the system is just as important as talent.

Without Curry making a bushel of 3 pointers every game the Warriors wouldn't be playing for the NBA Championship.Talent is far more important than the system.Look at the Knicks with the triangle offense minus Jordan or Koby.

I knew this already without making the dinner.

The Warriors as a team are great at raining threes. Steph hasn't been the best player game after game in the playoffs. By and large, Cleveland's done a good job on Steph this series. It hasn't stopped the Warriors one bit.

I feel that the only hoops our fan base watches is Rutgers hoops. If people watched more hoops, they would know that the triangle offense is an outmoded system that is useless in the NBA. That's such a poor example.
