Best line was about with his 30 to 40 nephews/nieces, we just improved season ticket sales by 50%!

I don't know if Pikiell can coach like Hurley or Longeran, but I can't imagine them giving a better press conference. We certainly hired a guy who can win the presser!!!

One has never made the NCAA tourney and one is in the NIT. Our guy was in the NCAAs.....and you compare him? We got the right guy!

I agree when compared to Hurley but it is a debatable point regarding lonergan. Time will tell.

Just like Schiano wasn't the first choice back in the day, Pikiell might very well be the program builder Greg turned out to be. Rutgers Basketball, after 25 years, is OVER due for some good luck don't ya think?

It was an impressive press conference. It wasnt rehearsed. The man knows the game, He is like Rice with the knowledge and passion but better positioned to succeed without Rice's temperment baggage

Pat mentioned that Pikiell texts him at 5am so there is no doubt we have a guy that is working on improving the program 24/7....HCSP must drink a lot of coffee!

One of the few times in life when we get our second pick and it is a BIG winner over the first choice.
Hurley=[sick]

Pikiell = :eek:kay:[banana]:cool2:[cheers]

I will always believe Hobbs is a very smart and tactful negotiator, I will always believe he presentrd a low starting offer. Have hurley reject it and counter and it let Hobbs walk away and pick the man he really wants in Pikiell.
It quelled any press judgments and it blunted many Dumb, Name Loving, alums who do not know **** about basketball but have money!

I would try to compare his with Lonergan. IMO, he is a much better gameday coach than Hurely.
