The moment he coached scared it showed me what type of coach he was. Probably showed other coaches as well which they use to negatively recruit against. And showed high school kids who want to be on offensive highlight reels

Wish I could find my thread so I can be petty to all the nerds who got mad at my hypothetical question about Pike reaching his potential here. SMH.
Unfortunately 'Pikes Peak(ed)' looks to be correct. I'm sure we will get an upset win here or there, but on the whole we have taken a step back from the teams of '19 and '20. And while I think we have taken a step back this year, the future is what really concerns me - lack of recruiting and a 'WTF' on not thinking to get any shooters (other than Jalen Jones) makes me think dark days are ahead.

Bad season for sure but he has a chance to turn it around next season with the portal.
From what I hear in NJ Coaching Circles, Derek Simpson is the real deal and should jump into the rotation right away. He looks like he has room to grow and has a great shot on tape. Jan 4 vs Camden will be a great measuring stick vs Wagner who may go right to the G League in 23.
Woolfolk seems like a 4 that can be a 7 RPG guy like a Shaq or DeShawn Freeman but I don't think that happens until So. year. Offensively, he has a long way to go, but RU has been pretty good at developing bigs (except Reiber).
The lack of a smaller guard who can score off the dribble and a C with size who can take pressure off of Cliff is what was missing in this roster. Having a bunch of 6'6-6'8 kids with similar games + Cliff isn't going to get it done. With travel circuits back full time this Spring, the staff NEEDS to find players for 23 who can come in and play at the Big Ten level. Have honest conversations with Reiber/Palmquist and hope that Jones/Cliff stay and this team should be back at an NCAA level next season.
