Yes, we have three C's. Yes, Greg can probably play the 4. But do we seriously only have one guy built for the PF position for next year?

This is one of the many reasons why I hope we could grab Freeman. Tons of minutes available.

Pretty much. Kjohnson is undersized to play the 4. Not happening. Diallo might struggle to guard the 4. Greg might struggle to guard the 4. Pretty much foreman.

I think you are seeing less of the traditional post up type 4 in college basketball with so many teams going with 3 guard sets.

The trend isn't away from two big men on the floor. It's more of a trend of a 4 that can stretch the floor and shoot the 3. Still, we've either got a bunch of 6'5-6'6 guys and a few 6'10-6'11 guys. There's a bit of a game there. We're not Dayton.

How about Diallo, I thought he could play PF.
I had Lewis and Doorson penciled in at Center & Foreman and Diallo at the PF spot

Madhat, i wonder how well Diallo would keep up with faster pfs though. Diallo seems more athletic than Shaq, though. By junior year, well have some pretty nice centers in the lineup.

Any news on freeman?

I thought we don't want our PF shooting 3's. You guys were screaming at Jack to stay in the paint all year.

I didn't ask for a shooting 4. I would much prefer the old school set up. Each person has a defined role.

Jack shooting 3's didn't help his game much.

I would love a 4 that could step out and shoot the three. Unfortunately, Jack was not that guy.

How are we having any trouble in finding a decent PF prospect, even if it's a guy on Craig Brown's level just to hold the fort for a year until we possibly bring in someone for 2016?

You get to play major minutes against B1G competition.

Both Lewis and Diallo can play the 4, as well as Freeman. We may go medium quite a bit this year as well. The only guy on our roster that probably can't flex out to another spot is Shaq.

Matchups are huge in this league. Indiana didn't play a guy bigger than 6'6 and seemed to do OK. Obviously talent level is an issue in that comparison, but we are big enough to compete if players progress and give effort.

That's good to know. I'd kill for an Adrian Hill type player, though.

Freeman? Is that a slip? A predicttion? Or did you mean Foreman?

BK, anything worth noting from a player development standpoint from where you've seen or heard?

Season just ended basically a month ago, so its hard to say.

Once summer work begins it'll be easier to get a feel on this topic

Each person can have a defined role without having a quote un quote power forward on the floor. So silly.

Dekker was a 5 star recruit and the #19 overall player in his class in the final RCSI rankings for 2012. Those kind of players are certainly out there, they are just hard to get since everybody else is after them as well.

Literally the last thing we should be worried about is finding players to "fit" the position on the court. You need a PG who is offensively inclined. You need one player on the court who is 6'9" or bigger. And you need 4 players on the court at all times who are a threat to score. Lets get those things first and then we'll worry about the rest later.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it's okay.

Have you guys heard anything about current players or commits recently?

I'd like to think the wing/3 position would be interesting next year. Laurent, Kjohnson, possibly foreman.

That would be some good competition there.

For me to play well, I need to know where the other guys are and basically what they're doing. If that not the case, I get guys stumbling across my lane or I'm dragging my defender into a spot where he can pester the ball. Give me a classic set with a pg that likes to distribute and I'm comfortable -otherwise I just don't have as good a feel for where the balls is coming from and where it's going.

Diallo can run the court OK, but I don't think he can defend the many B1G 4s.

Good points,knightlight.

I like DIallo but i think like you said, his best fit may be as a center. Although he does seem to look more athletic than he was in hs.

Imagine if freeman came-just for a second-sanders, williams,foreman,freeman,Lewis?

That would be awesome.
