I kind of like the student section as it is. I don’t think we have enough students that are really “into it” to put them on the premium sideline seats. Right now we got like 5-8 rows in the center section who id be proud to have their energy on full display on TV and take premium seating. Not enough and not consistent enough

Even if exploring moving the students closer means just expanding the section toward the baseline again, that's a huge win.
What does he plan to do with the 50 dance team and cheerleaders and the beloved floor seats on the baseline?

I know we all hate how 118 is now but am I wrong in assuming it’s an area that brings in a lot more money now then the way it was before?

The people that sit there in 118 now laid out some serious cash for the right to sit behind the basket (for some reason) and conceivably gave up already good court side seats. It would be a douche move by Hobbs to then evict them after enticing them to sit there.

Fine with me. I never did and don’t sit there now. But I THINK (someone can correct me) that unlike everyone else in 100s, the old 118ers had zero seat donation requirements so they always had a pretty good financial deal and I haven’t heard too many horror stories of the old 118ers forever banished to the 300s or something.

Our most famous @BK118 can chime in plus my friend D. G. who had Row 1 seats forever. I know he can't quite discuss calls and plays with the refs and other team like he used to lol. :Shocked

Funny part? There was a thread last week with some fans stating that they dont like that our fans get on the refs and other players LOL. Clueless, and this article proves just that. It provides a unique atmosphere and advantage.

Grown *** men getting on college kids is the issue. Not college kids getting on college kids or adults getting on coaches. Not hard to understand for people with a semblance of maturity. And acting like an ahole to the annoyance of people around them vs loudly cheering.

Move the student section closer to the damn baseline. They'd have to install new bleachers, but that will create another 5 or 6 rows of students, which would be a few hundred more screaming fans right on top of the court.

The cheerleaders can sit on the floor on the baselines... like in every other college venue. They don't need all of that room behind the basket.

And dear god, please put regular bleachers back in Section 118. The extra couple hundred thousand dollars ain't worth the loss of fans down there.

G-RUnit, I nominate you as the President of the "Bring back Section 118" lobbying committee. :poop

Between four of us we had over 120 years of season ticket years. Gave us about two weeks and lost two additional tickets in the process. Still have a bitter taste. Love for RU wins out but not the ridiculous process and messing with the RAC footprint. No airport barstools in the Palestra or at Duke.

#118 Remembers!

Absolutely fantastic article.
Loved some of the quotes from other coaches, especially the one about being afraid.
As for the "Jersey fans", like the book "Plunge into New Jersey" says in its intro:
"New Jersey has more attitude than the other 49 states combined"
Just tweak the RAC.

Personally think sections 111 and 112 should be given to students but those people would have faint.

He said RU is virtually assured a NCAA bid.
I think a lot of people who say we are a lock, they dont look at the schedule and probably assume that at worst we'll go 50% the rest of the way.

SO when we were 16-5 , yeah we're a tourney team. People didn't really consider what happens if you go 2-5 to get to 18-10. They're certainly not thinking the worst which is that we're stuck on 18 and finish 18-14. Those are very real possibilities.

Or we can go ahead and just win the BIG 10 tourney. I'll take that.
