It's the semis and they lost by a fg that was kicked with 12 seconds on the clock.

Yeah that’s the closest any team’s gotten to a National Championship without beating anyone good since BYU in 1984. So there is that.

True that. That was when the Big Ten was too arrogant to even take part in the BCS.

Anyway, beating two of the three worst teams in playoff field as your path to the Final Four must be nice.

While true, they channeled their inner Nebraska and threw an interception on their side of the field with 33 seconds left in the game. That qualifies as crapping the bed in my book…

Welp I get to deal with family and co-workers being extra depressed for the next few days. Cold, dark and dreary weather (even for a Pennsylvania January) already had people in a bad mood lol.

They deserve it
Ha. Well yes I suppose we do deserve it. If you live in PA and don't expect it to be snowy and cold you're going to have a bad time....

.... Oh wait you mean the other thing. Yeah I know what you mean Kong. Just messing a bit. Lol.

On a serious note I need to remember to start taking my vitamin D again. Maybe I'm just getting older but this winter is getting pretty miserable this year

They were also up by 10 and dominating. ND came out in the 2nd half and took over. Yes. I KNOW IT WAS 10 TO 3. PENN ST. **** the ned as they do in ALL BIG games. By-the-way, I was chering for Penn. St ( Big 10) to win. Bad loss....

Huh? I was making a joke about the weather. I thought it was pretty clear I was being sarcastic. I'm a diehard Nebraska football fan who happens to also live with Penn State fans in PA. I can't even laugh about something like that but if you want to go ahead I suppose.

Conversely, consider all the people who have to deal with all the insufferable Notre Dame fans.

The more their team succeeds, the more insufferable they become.

You can laugh about it. Just get a good night’s rest and try to in the morning. Maybe make some pancakes and use that maple syrup that comes in the fancy glass bottle that your annoying cousins send you for Xmas because they’re ******* cheap and they just regift something they received from work.

You know what? It’s not funny. Shame on me. Now I’m ******* hungry thanks to you and it’s too late to make pancakes. Look what you did

Lol. I probably shouldn't have reacted the way I did. But I don't appreciate an implication like that even as a joke.

My mother is a Penn State alum. Spent some time down there as a kid on the campus. Went swimming and such a few times in one of the pools. Probably would have spent a lot more there if we lived a bit closer. Bit of a drive away.

Just have a hard time laughing about the whole thing because I realize it could have been me in another life. One of the victims is from our sister town. On top of it that the whole thing is a black eye for not just the university but the whole state really. It's disgusting what happened there.

I live in PA and my wife is a ND grad. Last night I just retreated into my study and ignored the game. It was a lose-lose scenario for me. Hate both teams.

Where are all you guys hanging out who keep saying this, surrounded by ****** ND fans? I know a few of them and they're all pretty normal, level headed, good people with above average football knowledge. I know some insufferable fans from a few teams, but ND is not one of them. Maybe I've just been lucky to know some of the good ones? 🤷‍♂️

I love this! I've been on with all of my Pennsylvania offices this morning giving them the I told you so. Drew Allar sucks dick. Penn St has a really solid team, but can't find a QB and the fact they didn't complete a pass to a WR is flat out crazy.

The Penn State Qb didn’t play well. He had two other Interceptions but got bailed out because of penalties. Franklin should have gone to OT .

Consider:
  • Penn State coach James Franklin is now 1-18 vs. AP top-five teams (Notre Dame ranks No. 3 in the AP poll).
  • Of Allar's 12 completions on the night, not a single one went to a Penn State wide receiver.

They’re really good at it. Huskers are aces at pissing it down their leg, but we do it against worthless 7-4 herky squads that nobody cares about. Penn St takes their fans right to the edge of glory and gives them a little taste before they rip their heart out and piss on it right in front of them. It’s really quite amazing…

What’s scary is half those guys were 5* and 4* top 250 recruits. Either they can’t develop QBs or they’re really unlucky with QBs.

And to be fair some of those guys were pretty good, and played pretty good in a lot of games. But none of them ever one anything of substance. 0 B1G titles, 0 National Championships.

Allar is a good QB. He's not a championship QB though and that was on full display in that game. Same with Beck at Georgia and even Riley Leonard threw a bad pick. These types tend to do well in the regular season and then fold on the big stage.

Hard to be a great QB when your WRs disappear. Remember Josh Allen when he first got to Buffalo

I know, not sure what difference that makes. They still threw a terrible pick with time winding down, gifting ND the short side of the field and a game winning FG. Like Nebraska Iowa just about every year.

Penn St. would be better off with ND's backup QB. Gotta hand it to that guy with the mobster name, he pretty much jump started ND and took them into half with something to feel good about.

What actually impressed me from both teams were their running backs.. I was watching and thinking, jeez.. we haven't had backs like either team in quite a number of years now..
