Patrick Ngongba announcement today...

The so called basketball recruiting experts have mostly been favoring K State on this one, but admit that Duke is coming on strong with both VJ and Ngongba.
The same ones that picked uconn for coop
No that changed this week and some big crystal ball projection from Trilly Donovan and a lot others have picked Duke. This was posted in the Cooper Flagg thread.
Jon has absolutely made his mark as the best recruiter in the country. If we get VJ, we will be extra young next year but talent would be off the charts.
I believe I read that if we got Patrick and VJ, it would be the best class ratings wise ever for 24/7 sports. Let that sink in.

You’re right. I hadn’t looked at the crystal balls or predictions that all changed yesterday. On an even better note, a bunch of crystal balls have dropped for VJ to Duke.

Big strong kid, long arms. Has no problem banging down low.
Player comp? Bona from UCLA? I can't think of a Duke comp. Maybe Carter; but he's taller and a bit skinnier. U Conn's Okafor maybe. (sorry too soon)
Moves well, finishes fast, mostly below the rim.
Hit a few 3s in the video I saw. Nice looking shot.
Runs the floor well. Blocked a bunch of shots, rim protector!
Should start for us, possible OAD. Really nice pick up for us, a legit center. College ready build. Slightly raw; may need some time to adjust but could be a force by year's end.

If you’re thinking Duke players, his ceiling could be dropping numbers like Elton Brand did as a Freshman. Not saying this kid is the next Elton Brand. He just has a similar game as Brand. Ngongba is probably a little better on the perimeter and Brand was a beast from 12-15 ft and in. Has those long arms like Brand did.

Brand might be my favorite Duke player ever; so I wouldn't go that far. But you never know.
(If Brand doesn't break his foot in 98 we hang a banner. He came back but he wasn't the same)

He reminds me exactly of Bolden. Take that for what it is as Bolden never fully panned out, but I like that comp for him. Legit same exact body
Better motor than Bolden from what I have seen. (I'll be kind here) But yes; I can see that. Bolden seemed a bit bigger and plodding. Maybe I need to watch more. Bolden had a perfect build for a center.
