Ballsy hire for Georgetown but I think it has the most potential upside for them. A safe retread hire isn't yielding them anything more than low end at large bids. They now get a fresh face with a legendary name who will have a true loyalty to the school. The downside is a totally unproven coach who hasnt been involved with the college game since his playing days, the potential for running the program into the dirt is very real, although it's not like GTown is flying much higher than ground level as it is.
Lots of politics at Georgetown. John Thompson, Jr. still wields a lot of influence there, as do a lot of guys who played for him and made it into the NBA.
