Body weight rule...otherwise known as Aaron Rogers rule for when he broke his collar bone. The call was correct according to the rule.

You can actually see him sort of catch himself as they go to the ground. He was visibly NOT throwing his weight onto the qb. It was a truly awful call. If you can't tackle a qb the way Cousins was tackled, then you can't tackle a qb.

That was bogus. How could he be putting all his weight into it when he puts his left hand on the ground. I could see it if he was wrapped up. It was an anticipation call.

Now you guys see why I stopped watching the NFL after my guys I grew up watching and rooting for all retired. I was a 49ers fan back when they had Steve Young and Jerry Rice. When Rice retired from the 49ers I stopped. Became Huskers only from then on.

Same goes for NBA, when Jordan retired (against and again) I stopped. Purely college sports and only Huskers.

The ref said Matthews picked him up and threw him to the ground, which would be a penalty. However, Cousins actually jumped to throw the pass, and Matthews grabbed him while he was in the air. So a bad call. Too bad, Packers.

I get what you’re saying but you’re kinda missing out. There were some really great games today.

Wait, I’m confused about how the call in the Viking-Packer game is related to Jerry Rice and Michael Jordan retiring and you not watching professional sports.

It may not be Vegas but it does appear they want to keep games close and "dramatic". Chiefs should have gone up 28-0 over Steelers. Call out of nowhere that they didn't show replay of.
After that Steelers back in it with no running game and no holding and a few calls against chiefs D. But it made the game close and "dramatic".

These are the new realities of football...Coaches need to adjust how they put pressure on qbs, how they teach DBs to play defense, etc.

Just because the rules have changed (as they always have, heck the forward pass was only added tot he game to make the game safer, and the message boards of the early 1900s were absolutely lit with people saying that the game was becoming pussified) doesn't mean the game won't evolve.

I'm OK with targeting rules, but this "weight rule" is over the top. If you want to protect quarterbacks and turbo-charge offenses so fans get what they want, then make it easier for OL to block. Ease up restrictions on holding and illegal formations and such.

Otherwise just put flags on the QBs belt.

for one of the single worst calls that I have ever witnessed as a football fan. No team deserves this sort of call to cost them... potentially the game.
It was no different than the call against Eric Hendricks earlier in the game, if you're going to call one, you have to call the other. Overall the officials did a crappy job.

I was surprised they made no mention of that defensive holding call or shown a replay on the call..

But man the chiefs offense is fun to watch. Not your typical NFL offense

They just called another love tap on Seahawks against Cowboys and Aikman a former Cowboys QB said.." I don't even wanna comment on these calls anymore." Simply ridiculous. NFL...bunch of sad little girls running the show.

There are still torn ligaments and torn muscles every week; still broken bones every week; and of course still concussions every week, so we can at least enjoy that.

Foorball will be dead in 20 years. The Lions just got called for a blindside block. It is now illegal to make a blindside block.
