How many on this board still want me to continue to report game stats of Moline's Freeman and Harding on this new platform of On3. Let me know. I'd love to continue to update their adventure to the end of the high school season whenever that may be.
Yeah - I wouldn't mind seeing some periodic updates - Thanks

Well, if I'm going to continue reporting on the adventures of Owen and Brock, as was stated on the rivals board, this Friday, Moline 12-2 faces 12-3 United Township High School of East Moline at East Moline at 7pm.
On Saturday they take on, class 4, #1 Vashon of St. Louis, Mo. at Moline's Wharton Field House, no starting time has been released yet. It appears by looking at Vashon's schedule they play almost every game against teams from around the country, that may explain why at 6-5 they are ranked number 1 in class 4. So Saturdays game will be somewhat of a mystery until the ball drops, I'm eager to go to that game.
Though 14 games Brock is averaging 19.4ppg and Owen though 13 games averages 19.0ppg.
As always, if anyone that can't attend any Moline games this season, can go to QCSportsnet.com 15 minutes before tipoff and listen on line.

I'm going to go see Brock and Owen on Friday. Should be a great game against UT.
Man, when you gave your farewell speech on Rivals on Saturday, I felt I lost my best friend. It was bummed out rest of the day and into Monday. Then I heard your podcast with Matt and knew I had to come over to On3. Glad your still doing Iowa reporting just on a different site, I can deal with that!
As far as the East Moline game even when I went to Moline and that was many years ago, when that gym gets packed it gets way too hot in there. I'm deferring to QCSportnet.com and avoiding the traffic. Enjoy the game!

I have some additional news about Saturdays game against Vashon High School on Saturday.
When Moline's schedule came out, I evidently assumed the game was in Moline, but that is not the case.
Evidently Moline has been invited to play in the 31st Annual Highland Optimist Shootout this coming Saturday to play the final game of the 2nd session of the 18 team tournament against Vashon High School from St. Louis, Mo. at 8:30pm. The game is in the Highland, Ill. high school gym which holds about 3000 people and is approximately 30 miles ENE of St. Louis, Mo. That's all the info I've come up with at this time. Hopefully QCSportsnet.com will provide the internet coverage of the game.
Vashon is currently 6-5 on the season. They play teams from all over the country week to week which is probably why they are ranked #1 in Missouri's class 4. It sounds like it's going to be a wale of a game.

I'll give you the score and quick scoring stat for tonight's game between Moline and United Township of
East Moline. Because East Moline players lacked height to compete with Moline they played a slowed down game and held the lead at half 24-23. Moline came out after half and outscored East Moline 9-1 to start the 3rd and never allowed EM to get closer then 4 the rest of the way.
Owen Freeman had 16 and Brock Harding ended up with 10 and basically played facilitator and ball handler in the game. Since Tom K said he was going to the game, I'll defer to him to give his opinion of the play of Freeman and Harding. To say the QCSportsnet.com's announcer was easy to listen to would be an understatement. He also did the Normal West game and again I had trouble following his description of that game.
Tomorrows game starts at around 8:30pm down near St. Louis against the number 1 in Missouri class 4 Vashon high school of St. Louis. Vashon has 2, 3-star players, 1, 6-6 that has signed with So. Illinois, the other 6-4 who has not sighed with any college yet. Looking forward to listening to the game.
I'll try to keep track of the game, but my wife and grandson are dragging me to the "Vibrant Arena at the Mark" in downtown Moline to see Star Wars night for the Storm Hockey Team. Good Night you all!

In a very physical basketball game against 2 very talented high school teams Moline out muscled a Vashon high school varsity team from the inner St. Louis area by the score of 49-36. Vashon was up 2 after 1 quarter 8-10, Moline finished leading at half, 20-18, expanded it to 33-27 after 3 quarters, and finished them off by out scoring Vashon 16-9 in the 4th quarter. Owen Freeman came alive after half and finished with 24 point and over 10 rebounds and numerous block shots. Brock Harding was hounded all game by 2 or 3 players and handed the point guard spot like a veteran he is with almost double digit assists and very few turnovers.
In a game that after the half, Moline put the freeze on the ball, working big chunks of time off the clock and finishing with Freeman finishing off the possessions with a basket, slam, or getting fouled.
This is a game that Moline needed to prove to themselves that they can play with the big boys and also control the game without racing up and down the court.
Moline returns to Molines Wharton Field House next Tuesday against a surprising Sterling high school club at 7pm that is just 1 game behind Moline in conference. Should be a great game. On Friday Moline plays 1A Alleman high school at 7pm, Saturday they play number 7 in 3A East St. Louis high school at 6:30pm, and on Monday Martin Luther King Jr day, Moline plays Waubonsie Valley at 3:30pm. An extremely busy week coming up.

So I take it that Harding didn’t score any points?
I know he scored late in the game, I'm guessing around 8 to 10 points. Here's the thing, Vashon High School is not your ordinary run of the mill high school. They're a St Louis inner city school that doesn't belong to any conference like most high schools do. They play a 19 game schedule and it's not like any schedule that you would think a high school plays, they play about 1 game a week and started the season in Dallas, Tx, went to Chicago then Utah then White Plains, NY, then New Orleans, White Haven, FL, Georgia, Kentucky, then the game with Moline. After last nights game they travel to Philadelphia, Modesto, Ca, Kansas City, St. Louis, and finish the season at Columbia, Mo. They play the best of the best and to say they're battle tested at the end of the season is an understatement.
There roster is full of potential college players headed by 6-6 senior guard Kennard Davis Jr. signed to play basketball at Southern Illinois, 6-6 Jr Jayden Nicholson,6-6 Cam Stovall, who has an offer from Western, Il, 6-7 Jordan Logan offered by Florida International, 6-8 Nick Randall, has offers from Kansas City, Louisville, Mizzou, Eastern Ill and 5-11 So Troy Williams, has offers from Mizzou and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I think you get the picture.
Anyway besides everything I've said, yes they had only 1 senior and was a relatively young team, Vashon had won the last 2 Missouri State Championships. It was no walk in the park win by any means

Freeman had an offer from MSU and Izzo. That says enough about his toughness and talent. I expect him to play a lot of minutes next year. That said, he has big shoes to fill -the Hawks are going to miss Rebraca’s toughness and rebounding-hopefully they can get a couple guys out of the portal-a rebounder and a shooter to fill in the gaps.

Wow. We could really use a halfway decent big man on the court. Don't get me wrong, Rebraca is killing it as an undersized big, but have a true big man who can draw defenders into the lane and do generally what Garza did would make us that much better. I know not every guy is gonna be Garza.

I too went to the UTHS game Friday night.
Was impressed with Freeman. Nice hands, good foot work, a smooth player underneath. He had a huge size advantage but was still able to show his footwork on some post moves. Good size with some muscle on his frame. Nice looking shot though he didn’t shoot the ball outside at all.

Harding was hounded the whole game. Kid has unreal quickness and handles. Didn’t show much offensively as he used his ball handling, quickness, passing skills to set up his teammates a number of times. In fact some of his passes were so good and surprising, his teammates fumbled the ball. I think once Brock gets to D1, settles in and plays with other D1 athletes you will see his value at controlling a team and handling the ball. Again, he didn’t shoot much, but I liked his basketball acumen to do what was necessary and find open teammates and positively affect the outcome of the game.

Last night Moline took care of Sterling Illinois by the tune of 74-51. Owen Freeman had 20 points, 12 boards and 6 blocks, Brock Harding also had 20 points, and had 5 - 3 point goals before exiting the game after being called for a technical foul near the end of the 3rd period for chirping at a sterling player. It was a coaches decision not to play him in the fourth quarter as Moline was already up close to 30 points.
It was also the return of Owen's brother Braden, who has been out with a shoulder injury since the 3rd game of the season. Braden a 6-6 Sophomore ended up with 8 points, another addition to an already well stocked roster.

QCSportsnet.com had some computer problems at the game tonight and the only thing I have found out is Moline won the game 81-32 and some deep reserve named Hyson Bey-Buie hit 5-3 pointers and ended up the leading scorer for Moline with 15 points, Harding had 13, and Freeman had 9. Moline played everyone and Moline sharpened their shooting eye by hitting 17-3 point field goals in the game.
I don't think the Moline coach intended to play the starters much any way against the highly undermanned 1A Alleman High School because Moline has a tough game tomorrow night against the 7th ranked Class 3A East St. Louis High School in Wharton at 6:30pm

Moline just absolutely whipped a St. Louis Flyer club 77-53 leading almost the entire game. Brock Harding showed everyone in the building he was the best player on the floor dribbling around and sometimes through the ESL players to finish at the rim or for open jumpers, 24 points, 4 threes and numerous assists, Owen Freeman didn't disappoint anyone either, 23 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists to add to the Moline domination of the game. Moline outrebounded ESL 39-25 limiting them to 1 and done most of the game and forced the Flyer club to chuck up a ton of threes just to stay in the game making 9.
An 80 to 85% house was loud and enjoyed the entire contest. Moline again takes the floor on Monday 3:00 pm against Waubonsie Valley again at Wharton Field House on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Waubonsie Valley from near Aurora, Ill. became Moline's 18 victim this afternoon 86-59 with a rolling 4 quarter clock.
WV had no answer for Owen Freeman as he finished with 23 points with numerous shots and dunks at the basket and lots of blocked shots and rebounds on the defensive end. Brock Harding was the outside force making 6-3 pointers and finishing with 20 points and numerous assists. Both Iowa recruits stayed on the bench during the 4 quarter allowing the Moline reserves to finish out the game.
Next game is on Friday against Galesburg High School with the big game on Saturday against number 1 in Illinois class 3A, Chicago Simeon High School which is also the 4th ranked high school in the country. The game is being played at Benet Academy, in Lisle, Ill. at 6pm

Have any stats on Harding's 3 point shooting this year? Just from what I've read & some highlights I've seen it seems like he's shot & made quite a few. Interested in that & his percentage
