The defense made a big stop in the 4th quarter then we head to OT. Win the coin flip. Then get completely embarrassed on both sides of the ball.
I actually felt like we might have the advantage of momentum going into OT after the stop. Wow was I wrong.

Our program won’t take a big step until we have at least a good O-line. It has been more than 10 years since our O-line has been at good level. Special Teams is now a mixed bag but still mostly bad. We’ve definitely seen worse but Foley is clearly not the answer

Same. I liked our chances if we got to OT. Such a choke job on both sides of the ball.

Special teams and Dylan pissed sown their leg this time. Another 1 score loss. I knew when it was tied in The 3rd quarter. Sadly so did the players. . Not sure what it will take

Unfortunately if this continues, in 2-3 years you might have your answer.

As soon as we missed the easy game-clinching TD pass and trotted out the FG unit at the end of regulation, I knew we would lose. Knew FG would miss. Knew we wouldn’t win in OT. But I was still surprised that every single play in OT was an epic disaster.

After the missed field goal I was convinced they’d drive right down the field and kick one of their own with little or no time left. Accept they’d make it of course, they have legit D1 kicker. I actually had some renewed hope when we got the stop and forced overtime. Then I watched the most pathetic overtime performance in CFB history…

Dylan is the only reason we were even in this game

Loved how they scored in two plays and our first play of OT was a false start. Coaches letting these guys play video games for practice?

I knew we hadn't scored in ot since 2014 but I didn't know we haven't even got a 1st down in 10 years !!!! How is that even possible?!? It seems our 1st play is almost always for a loss

We are somewhat of an average team that is better than last year due to DR. Seven wins will be a huge accomplishment and should be the goal. All the accolades were BS and overblown, including the Tony White story. D has been somewhat soft since second half of Colorado. It is not as good as we think IMO. We don't have one difference maker in the back 7 - like CTB. They better bounce back in the next game or the doubt will start creeping in again and the recruits may start to waffle. Last night was a bigger momentum setback than most realize.

Yesterday was completely embarrassing in OT. I would have rather have lost the game on a FG in regulation than what happened in OT.

Exactly- he was great last night, except for one throw that would have won the game. DR also had to hit receivers that were well covered all game long - except the aforementioned overthrow. Perhaps trying to hit a receiver that was not covered caused the overthrow.

Altmeyer had the luxury of throwing to receivers that were so wide open, I could have hit them.

For as much as we emphasize speed, not many of these guys get separation consistently.

Thats what happens when you have a team of WR's being coached by some goofy little, always smiling ear to ear kid who just smiles, claps his hands, and says, "Let's go."
What WR can take that kid serious?

Lindenmeyer has a grand total of two receptions in 2 seasons for a total of 10 yards. That isn't the guy I want catching a game winning pass on 3rd down with the game on the line. I also know that QB timiing is partly affected by the speed of the player. You send a slow receiver out there on a route after throwing to fast guys all game and you tend to miss the mark with the ball placement.
It was almost embarrassing and baffling to see how wide open the Illinois receivers were. Whatever the defensive game plan was it wasn't working at all.

I know TW is the OC, but at point does Butler have some ownership in this?
