This is untenable to winning. And foreseeable given Pike’s failure to bring in a rebounding big thru portal. If this is not fixed to a large degree this season will be a disappointment.

Martini at the 4 should not be concerned with offense. Crash every rebound.

It's the thing in which I am most concerned. I'm positive a good portion of our upcoming practices will involve rebounding drills.

Glad EJ is not our coach!
If it hasn't happened already it probably won't. These kids are paid and will be paid regardless..putting their bodies at risk? Ha. We got two rebounders.. Derkak and a guy everyone hates who showed a bit today..#21

Bailey needs to rebound. If Pike does not persuade him to do so, we will lose many, many games.
You heard after the last game Ace talking about how Pikiell will spend a lot of time on rebounding and how he was most proud of the 10 he got last game. They didn’t execute.

If Pike only makes changes after a loss then the first change should be to put Dercack back in the role he was brought in for as a reserve

If Jwill embraces his role as the on court leader and DEFENSE guy then it’s his role. He seems somewhat okay with deferring offensively

Worthless ogbole had two rebounds. Two. Team captain Martini looks like he had a few martinis. 3 pts and 1 rebound in 19 min? WTF is he even doing out there?

Agreed. Martini disappeared. Need him. Disappointing.

Rebounding needs work for sure but we could’ve won this game regardless.

KSU only had 4 more offensive rebounds than we did, which still sucks, but we more than made up for it by winning the turnover battle by 12.

In the end we took 6 more shots from the field, we just couldn’t make enough of them (we only needed one more make to tie or win).

It is impossible to win with this big of a rebounding margin. Miller (10), Lue (9) and Weir (7) each out rebounded Ogbole, Martini, and Sommerville (6) combined. Miller and Lue are both freshmen. You can’t have Dercack and Hayes as your leading rebounders.

Bailey has to rebound. Period. If he is a number 1, 2 or 3 pick in the draft he should be a double double machine against Kennesaw State.

Yes Martini needs to rebound as well as Ogbole and Sommerville but none of them are projected as first round NBA players that are 6ft 10 inches and can jump out of the building.

Everyone of you fake die hards knew we had nothing at the C position. Everyone of you fake die hards know how college recruiting works in 2024. None of you stepped up. It’s been widely discussed that Pike wanted to go and get a real Center that can help this team. All of us knew this and 99% of you fake die hards did nothing to help Pike go get a Center. Alabama did go out and invested and other teams went out and got themselves a Center who can help them and compete. Why do you people ignore this important fact. Why do we just complain and complain and complain when we all know that the rules have changed. Please don’t mention our 2 Five stars. This fanbase did nothing to have them here.

Sorry
I am not going to spend the rest of my fan years throwing money out for players

As far as being a fan, or fake fan, I think I have you buried in that department

There are better ways to measure fans

You have me buried is a matter of opinion right? I give to NIL monthly some for football some for basketball. I want to win not just talk sports and complain.

I think the vast majority give to the collective.
Unfortunately the 10.5 million Michigan is prepared to give a high school senior doesn’t come from people like us.
The vast majority gives squat. NIL is bashed here daily never mind that everyone knows the rules of the game now.

You like most fake die hards continuously show what a small time fanbase we are. You’re good at talking and complaining about losing but fail miserably where it counts. The team has been decimated by injuries on both sides of the ball. A healthy NIL would have made a world of difference. Our die hards only care to a certain extent. It’s why we have been last in everything but expect the teams to win.

I was probably a paying fan before you were born

Very convenient it’s why we are who we are. You’re part of a very old and money conscious fanbase that never gave.

Season ticket holders have donated additional money in order to get preferred parking near the stadium and the RAC,The real problem is that not enough alumni contribute to Rutgers for academics or sports.Bottom line in NJ there is little interest in college athletics as compared to other parts of the USA.A 8000 seat basketball arena is a perfect example.

Your right and there are many in this fabulous fanbase that want to keep the RAC as is. They don’t care about growth they care just about themselves and convenience. It’s a small sad fanbase who turn on the team on a dime. Out season ticket prices are a joke compared to other schools. Parking is extremely cheap if you compare it to our peers.

With 600k alumni alone the fact we have 1-2k who subscribe to the collective is telling.

The question was directed at the members of this board who complain.
It’s my opinion the vast majority of the regular posters on this board who follow the team donate to the collective.
As for the the other 558 thousand, I guess they don’t complain

You are describing the attitude RU has had toward sports for the entirety of the fan bases life. No one should expect the fans to bend over backwards for the athletic department when the school and the department have spent their lives saying sports don't matter, we won't fund this like other schools, winning isn't important, ect.

They have mattered for the time we have been investing into the sports programs. This is just another of the myriad of excuses said to not get behind the programs. It’s cost us in basketball and in football.

They've been investing 5 years. If you think you offset 140 years of athletic ineptness with 5 years of investing the minimal amount your peers do, you are smoking some good stuff. I would probably agree a lack of fan investment has cost the programs, but i really don't blame the fans. RU is pretty lucky they have the few they do after it's historical performance.

I disagree bottom line is this. In 2024 and going forward the teams that win more than ever are the teams with the better players. NIL is the avenue to get those players. Many fans in the BIG want to win and they actually open up the wallet. This fanbase will have to decide seems like they did already do you want to win? Most here are happy just talking sports and complaining. Winning is not required.
