It is unfortunate, if only to keep up the positive narrative. This was a must win in that respect. But teams will have wtf losses, and we have our first one.

This is great. We have a FB team AND BBteam with no offense. Sad sack school.

A wake up call for the team and staff. Outplayed and outcoached. PSU took away everything Rutgers wanted to do, and Rutgers had no answers. All they can do now is try to learn something and move forward.

We are not the "better team." No how, no way, not any way you slice it. Now...that doesn't mean we couldn't have won the game, don't get me wrong, but this isn't a "WTF" loss. That would have been Central Connecticut or someone like that.

The idea that we got out coached and out hustled is ridiculous. We shot badly and turned the ball over. That's it. A team never looks good when the ball doesn't go in the hoop but there was plenty of hustle and effort and solid defense. There is no wake up call needed. This team is what it is.

PSU is a terrible team. They have zero quality wins and a terrible loss. We are a bad shooting team so why did we take so many outside shots? If you want to make excuses, go ahead. But this was a bad loss. PSU will finish last in the B1G.

Rutgers will likely finish last in the Big 10. Penn State is not good, to prove that that the 11-2 start was not a fluke, RU needed to win this game. However its apparent the cupcake schedule was fools gold. Program has improved but not enough to win games in the Big 10. Penn St proved today that they are better and have more talent. RU is just too limited right now. The eyes do not lie on what we saw today. Game wasnt close after the 15 minute mark, PSU outscored RU 14-0 in 3 minutes and coasted to the win

Disagree with you bac. This team is better than what they showed today. Team got over confident early and PSU wanted it more. They'll bounce back but not a good day for the coaching staff.

When you can't score you won't win .The coaching staff had the team hold Penn State to less than 60 points which should have resulted in a win if the offense had a pulse.

overconfident early? on a 7-2 start...lol. PSU was putrid early yet RU was only up 5...they sleptwalked through the game. It was a winnable game but PSU proved they were better in that 14-0 run

At full strength, Penn State is not great. Today, they were missing their leading scorer (14 points/game) plus half the team and some staff members are still fighting the flu.

Pikiell is good. I think that's agreed upon. Still, there's an adjustment to coaching in a higher level conference. Hopefully that gets worked out and is no longer an issue when they have the weapons to compete.

The only way they'll hang in games this season is to play slow, grind it out, limit possessions, and hope things go their way every once in a while.
