Coming off of a frozen four appearance in March, the Mavericks are off to a great start with wins over two top 20 teams and a dominant performance against Air Force. The record so far is unblemished at 6-0 with them being ranked #1 in the country. Student tickets sold out in 20 minutes so I was unable to attend the first home game but the new arena looks really nice and is a great recruiting tool. Any other mavskers on this board?

Yes, MAV Hockey fan here. Very nice arena.....One thing though that people need to make sure they understand before they go see a hockey game at the Dealership.....is that it was built to have the best sight lines in college hockey so seating is tight and the concourse is tight with long lines at the beer stands.....The long lines they will figure out, but because they focused on the viewing experience from any seat, some people might be disappointed with a few things......Bottom line, it was built for the viewing experience and to keep people in their seats. I'd imagine they will need to make adjustments over the season or off season, but nice arena and an even better location forth students.

That doesn't sound too bad. I have a feeling it was so packed because it was the very first game and everyone wanted to see the new arena. Did you go both nights or just one?

Any game in mind that you want to go see? I'm pumped to watch us play Minnesota-Duluth in two weeks as they always play us tough and I think tickets for that are already flying off the shelf

Both games.....UNO Hockey has obvious taken a back seat to Husker Football and Creighton Basketball but now they have the new digs, they should be able to maintain the success from last year. If anything, it's such a massive recruiting tool for UNO that they should be able to pull in top recruits every year......Very happy for UNO...

and to add that it's in such a great location, close to campus and Aksarben Village.....Win for everyone, students and businesses.

Yup. The location is amazing. Aksarben village was packed, but with all the parking and businesses it's better than downtown IMO. I still made the trip down even though I didn't have tickets and watched the game at Dudleys. (highly recommend) I agree that they take backseat to just about every other sport in Nebraska, but just look at how many new people follow UNO due to their recent success. If they can keep making a run at the frozen four and all our other sports keep on their path, it could be huge for UNO

Great time both games. Had season tix since game one in the Civic. Coach Blais has put together a great staff and recruiting has never been better...look for UNO to start cutting into North Dakota's huge recruiting advantage. Go Mavs.
