The corrupt Clinton machine falls! Its a great day to be an American and Mountaineer! Let's put WV back to work! Let's put America back to work! As a life long Democrat, I couldn't be more proud to be a reformed Republican. A veteran, a God loving AmEERican!

On one hand, Trump is a frightening narcissist with authoritarian tendencies that will probably wreck the economy. On the other hand, Clinton would just band-aid the economy like Obama did and kick the emerging death of labor can down the road.

At least with Trump, the entire house of cards will come falling down. Sure, we'll probably suffer through a decade of misery because of him, but at least we'll come out of it with an understanding that automation and AI will basically spell the end of human labor as a means to support oneself and real reform can actually happen.

Really, this election was a question of ripping the band-aid off vs taking it off slowly. So I guess, long term, the children of the millennials might wind up being the winners of this. Oh, and Russia. Putin is probably over-the-moon this morning.

I dont get the russia trash talk... Trump is the least person they want to piss off. The man is not a stupid puppet the media pushed him off as for well over a year now. Its past time we had a man who stood up to his partt, the other party, the media, and loom them in the face..... and win. Tonight, over half Americans proved they are not sheep, push overs, and have a mind of their own. The Clinton machine is well funded. This time, we were not bought off. I couldn't be more proud. Our military, deserved better, we deserve better. Now we can work as ONE, or battle within

The last 2 presidents didn't do Trump any favors. Its going to be rough mess to clean. God willing, he will do us all well. I can't think of a better man. A brilliant outsider who makes a habit of winning

If Trump actually does follow through on his foreign policy, it will drastically change the international balance of power. Trump has been vocal about limiting the role of NATO and lessening America's role in international affairs. If NATO becomes weaker, he will have free reign in Eastern Europe to try to rebuild Mother Russia. Trump's vision of American influence is pretty much Putin's vision of American influence.

It'll be one party rule in Washington. WH, Senate, House and Supreme Court. No one else to blame now. We shall see.

Trump will soon find out that running for President is much different that being President.

I have mixed feelings this morning. That's about all I can say about it.

Great day to be an American. Proves we have a great process to be heard
Pretty much how I feel. I thought we had pretty much turned the corner into an irreversible socialist shitcan. There's still some hope left for Americans. Obama was an absolute nightmare and this chick would've been the nail in the coffin. Would've been bankrupt by the end of her first term. It was a beautiful night.

Been a life long moderate democrat and i voted for him. I'm not happy I did but I found Clinton so repugnant that I wanted her to lose more than I wanted him to lose. Hope Trumps destroys a lot of the good ole boy system in DC.

It seems that my politics are very different than the majority of the Blue Lot community. That said, I agree with this. The media outwardly and openly did not want Trump to win. I wish him luck and offer my congratulations to his supporters.

I am just glad I was able to witness this election. It will be looked back at as a Historical time in American politics, either good or bad. The campaigns, the polling, the candidates and the media coverage will be reviewed and studied for years to come. Last night was a groundbreaking election where half the country stood up and said enough of the career politicians, lets try something different. Will it work, only time will tell. One thing is for certain however, elections will never be viewed, covered or ran the same after this one.

I honestly think Trump will do a better job than most people think - don't think his campaign antics will carry over to the WH.

On the other hand I think you're kidding yourself if you think coal is coming back.

Agree, I think he'll do okay. He hasn't been thrust into a good starting position though. His first 100 days will be blowing up everything Obama did via executive order

I think restoring the engine that actually drives our economy...free markets, and creation of Capital to create and grow private enterprise will be our ultimate solution fixing everything else you think is constraining our economic future.

Grow this economy with market based solutions that rely on freedom of entrepreneurship, rewards creativity & risk taking, encourages savings & private investment. Then, free to utilize their God-given ingenuity using new technologies and the spirit of job creating innovations, you will see people creating more opportunities for more people than we've ever had before in human history. The future is bright if we just step aside and trust the people.

The only component that's been missing from fixing our financial and fiscal insolvency is the American people who actually make this economy work.

It's not Government, it's the people... acting in their own self interest for the greater good. Unleash them and give them the ability to keep more of what they produce by creating goods and services that others need, want, and desire...and you will see them perform miracles for themselves and each other that will dazzle and amaze everyone while creating the next great generation of American wealth that will last us for another 200 years!

Go President Trump... let America be great again.

I know this is a sports board, but this means a very bright future for every American.

Basically Trump, and the voters made this happen. Some of the GOP good ol boys club didn't help much, then add the media trying to skew the news with overly biased trash , this is good medicine for them. Now we can use tax payers money, to help the tax payers.
This was my 1st ever vote cast to a Republican president.
The Democratic party left me, i didnt leave it.

The media wanted him to damage Rubio/Jeb/Kasich/Cruz for a general election and he did, but he also won. They cleared the deck of Bernie for the anointed one and did.

They got what they wanted and ended up with egg on their faces. They are not as smart or as influential as they thought. HRC is probably the only candidate that would have lost to Trump, and he is the only one that could have kept it close. HRC is/was a truly awful candidate. Gave away substantial leads in 08 and 16. At least she managed to beat Rick Lazio

There is a female out there much more deserving of the title of 1st Female president . ...Thank God it wasn't HRC. It'll be someone we can all be proud of, and point to as a great example of doing things the right way

I think there will be more two party involvement than one would expect. Trump has a history of getting along with Schumer. Schumer has proven to be tough, but not impossible. And occasionally he does not follow party line. Hopefully Dems allow the new guy a honey moon period, and that should be a time to mend fences and build the bridges necessary to bring the country back closer than you anticipate.

I actually agree. I'd much rather have Trump than say Cruz. I am totally open to his doing better than expected. When I look at him I see more of an independent that caucuses with Republicans. I'd also like to see him pick some sane judges and tap on some democrats as well in his appointments.
