OT: Ticket Valuation

Our church is having a silent auction and I need a valuation on two Scoreboard Club tickets with parking pass for either LSU or ALABAMA this fall. I know face value is a lot lower than they’ll go on StubHub.

Tickets are about $375 each plus $1250 each seat fee. A season parking pass was $190 This was two years ago. So $1815 divided by 7 game’s equals $259.28 each per game. Gumps will give $400-$500 each. Tigahs won’t.

That may all be true, but the value of all seven games is not proportional. LSU and Alabama make up at least half the season’s value.

Edit: I’d be prepared to spend at least $1000 or so for the pair. Possibly much more if there are Tiders or Tigers bidding on it.

I would go to StubHub or some other reseller and check to see what comparable tickets are being listed for. You'll have some leeway in placing a value on the tickets because it's not something like a stock where there's a published value every day. But as long as you follow a rational process and document it (screen shot of the listings on Stub Hub), you should be fine.

I’ve bought additional SBC tickets for Bama games for $150-$200. Most people would lose money on their tickets to a fellow SBC member rather than sell them to a Gump. Not all but a lot. Worth is subjective. If you’re going to write it off as a charitable donation They are worth $259.28.

Are you asking with the starting bid should be? I'd look at $200ish each for the starting bid.

You are personally donating them to the auction? LSU and Bama are big time programs. And the scoreboard club offers free soft drink refills. Sounds like a $10,000 per ticket tax write-off to me. ******
