I watched the Cavs-Wizards game tonight, and it was a 3 point shooting festival. The Cavs made 19-38 on 3s and the Wizards were 12-29. The NBA game now revolves heavily around 3 point shooting. I think Stephen Curry was the protagonist who started the trend but it's now very cool and fashionable to shoot lots and lots of 3s. It seems like even in the NBA guys have absolutely no problem draining 3s. The perimeter attack has become de rigeure. Gone are the days of dominating teams inside with a big strong center like Shaq or Olajuwon or David Robinson. Now team dominate on the perimeter. And most defenses just cannot adequately defend the 3 point shot because NBA teams space their players so well and the ball gets moved so crisply that wide open 3 looks are inevitable results of any good offensive sets.

Khalid - you're just noticing this?
Are you related to Kevin Ollie by any chance :)
You and KO seem to be the last to catch on to analytics and why it makes sense to play this way..................

I am not "just noticing this", it's just the extent of it has increased in the last 3 years and many games are now being played with over 30 3 point FGs being attempted by both teams. Games like last night used to be somewhat unprecedented with almost 70 3s launched, but now are not a surprise any more.
