One dimensional player and if you're just a jump shooter and can't play Man Defense in a bigtime league it's tough to get minutes.

The Powell kid took his role.

Opening up spots for the Great 2018 class of Jersey recruits.
Still cant figure out why any kid would want to go to SHU when you can go to RU. Like what exactly does SHU offer? I had friends who went there who would come to RU and visit me all the time because they said SHU campus was a ghost town and dead with nothing to do on weekends.

1) RU is a better school
2) were soon to have better facilities
3) we have an on campus arena
4) we have better fan support (yes we do when were even halfway decent)
5) better school
6) not a commuter school and we have a college atmosphere
7) better campus
8) better dorms
9) better dining halls
10) better conference

I cannot think of one reason why a kid would choose SHU over RU

Veer never got it going at shu. Word was he won a starting job in preseason last year, then he broke his wrist. Hard to fathom him being better than Rodriguez. I was always a fan, most sh fans saw him as overmatched. I though eventually he could be a scorer off the bench, but he never found his shot this year.

Counter arguments
1. SHU has a better basketball team. And that's all that matters to some kids.

They've been historically much better than RU in basketball. Why take a chance on a longtime losing program, when you can go to a proven product?

It's been a long time coming but I finally feel that we have someone who can build the program and coach, as well. It will take a couple of years but recruits will begin to have confidence in the program and coach. Continued success on the court will be followed by the recruitment of better players. It will take several years of success to get the recruits to believe that we're a legitimate option. We just have to be patient.( I know we've been patient for a quarter century, but what's a couple more years:).)
