OT - Should DS start a new OT sub-forum

[MeridianDog]

It seems to me SPS is at a point where starting an OT sub-forum would be a good idea. It would allow folks free rein to go there and immerse themselves in all of the OT stuff. If it didn't work, you could kill it in a few weeks.

Maybe even start a political forum and an OT forum.

Think of the empire you could build.

[Nunya.sixpack]

yeah. put the cereal (sic) offenders in there and ban them from open forum posting.

No. Just go back to the way it was pre-coronavirus. Stop allowing political threads. The non-political OT threads are part of what makes this board great.

We're starting to get to the time of year where the board always hits a dead period and lots of OT threads start popping up, anyway.

[msstatelp1]

No. Things that get heated on a political board usually spill over to the main board. Keep politics out.

Agreed. Ban all political talk. I don't care about your thoughts on what's happening with Trump/protests/etc., but I'll entertain a discussion on mole crickets/pineapples/etc.

[tenureplan]

There is NOTHING else to talk about.

Yeah, there's only so many threads we can have on seating capacity this fall. I'm all for a political board, or letting the threads runs their course for 24 hours then locking them.

I don't see why we would want to lower the traffic or interactions. Especially since June-July tends to be the slowest time of the year anyway.

[tenureplan]

Maybe you could do a writeup on your fantasy football plans for the upcoming season. Your trade rapes are top shelf

I'm always interested in the rationale behind asking someone else to start something that you want. Why not start a political forum of your own and post the link here so people can come over and post if they want to. DS could instalock bad threads and provide your link. Please don't read a negative tone into this post. I'm genuinely curious. It takes some effort to run/mod a board, so even if literally every poster thought this was a good idea, I'd fully expect it not to change DS's perspective on whether he wanted to run another board. His possible need for a new, bigger screen notwithstanding!

Isn’t NAFOOM the subforum?
