OT: Robot Lawnmowers

I have a Roomba and it works ok. I'm thinking about buying a Husqvarna Auto mower. Anyone have any first hand experience with an Automatic mower?

My uncle has one. Works really well. You still have to weed eat on occasion because it doesn't get as close as you like. But it's whisper quiet and runs almost 24/7. He has about 3/4 of an acre of grass that needs to be mowed and it does a good job. His is an older model that uses the "electric fence". I don't think his has GPS, so it's somewhat inefficient. I'm certain the newer ones have better technology now.

And don't try to pick that thing up unless it senses it's suck. The alarm on it is deafening.

i helped my brother install his Husky robot. The sensor thing needs to be high enough that you it can get the signal all the way around the yard. He's got about 2 acres of grass around his house. it mows at night, and then goes and parks itself in the charger. Works like a champ so far, put it in in the middle of the summer last year.

Guy in my neighborhood (that I don't know) has 2 Husky's on a 2-3 acre lot. I pass there and see them running every day in summer and it looks good

Lets say you have some daffodils along a sidewalk. Does the robot mower chop em down?

Yea I got one but it wasn't cheap. Had to put a diamond ring on its finger and promise a bunch of crap in front of a preacher. I do enjoy when she mows in a bikini top, I could sit by the pool drinking beer and watch boobs bounce up and down all day. If the yard starts to smooth out I'll just drive the tractor through the yard and create some new jiggle lanes.

2 years with a Husqvarna 430x and so far so good. It really does cut and is low maintenance so far. Cheaper than hiring someone and worth it for someone lazy like me. It doesn't cut the edges of the yard, break out the trimmer or lawn mower. My about 1/4 acre back yard gets cut in two days. I don't generally run it every day but cut two days at a time ever three or four days. I have an ego self-propelled for the small front yard--too much trouble to run the Husky there. Bought mine from a local dealer instead of Lowes. Go with someone who services it. Didn't bury the line. First, cut grass low where you plan to lay the wire and in a few weeks it will be fine. Just start out cutting at the highest setting for the first few weeks and lower it if needed. Hoping to get 8-10 years out of it. Easy to change blades.
