This is a great time of year with all the hockey/hoops stuff

I try to watch as much NBA playoffs as I can but always seem to have hockey on instead

Insanely entertaining product, tough MF’ers out on the ice

Absolutely! Hockey is definitely my second favorite sport! Rooting for anyone in particular?

I live in CO, so I suppose the Avs

but I really don't care who wins it all & I watch as much of all the series as I can

several absolute beauties in Rd 1 - TORvBOS, Vegas v Dallas, the FL teams & more

I think panthers win the whole thing !
nothing like baseball and hockey playoffs - any team can get hot and win it

NFL sometimes has the last seed in their respective conference make the Super Bowl but not often that they win it all

NBA playoffs basically never has early round upsets

Love playoff and live hockey. Big Blackhawks fan, but have adopted the Canes as my new team since I live here. The games at PNC are fun as hell and it's nice enough here to tailgate even during the winter, so that is a plus.

I would like to see Toronto make a deep playoff run, but I'm afraid the city is in for another letdown.

There's a reason they call the team the Make Beliefs.

I have some friends that are season ticket holders and they have such a love hate. He actually quit drinking because he was getting too hammered because of how much they always suck in the playoffs.

I think I posted last year that I ran into the Panthers in a hotel lobby in Toronto during the playoffs. Looked like a great bunch of guys to have on your side in a bar fight! That's the full extent of my hockey knowledge.

Alright. How many bar fights have you been in?

Well the Make Beliefs force a Game 7 in Boston. Hope they can pull it off, but I suspect this will just result in soul-crushing series loss for Toronto fans.

I'm a Bruins fan. So frustrating. I do love breaking the hearts of Leafs fans each year. It's tradition, as kong just said.

I've only been to one NHL game in my life, an exhibition in about 1972 in Oklahoma City between the Blackhawks and the Bruins. Icons like Stan Makita and Bobby Orr. I could not believe (and this was about 50 years ago), the pace and speed of the game!! And man, could those dudes skate. Could not have been more impressed with the skill level in so many aspects of that sport.

I’ve played hockey recreationally for 35 years.
It’s still difficult for my brain to fathom the level of multi-faceted skill and coordination the pros execute.
They also grind through an impressively long season for a intensely fast and physical sport.

What’s great about the highest level of pro sport is displaying what the human body is capable of after years of dedicated training.

I had a good time tonight. I don't think the Panthers feel the same way. Laughing

Stars were up 3-0 after the first and the Avs have come all the way to tie it up. Glad I stayed awake for the 3rd!

Hockey Story: Mike Ricci was a fine 3rd line center for the powerhouse Avs in the mid 90's. He had long, stringy hair but for some reason became a heartthrob. After a game Ricci and some teammates were at Eddie's Chop House. A youngish female fan came up to them and said, "Oh Mike, I want to have your baby." Ricci looked up at her, took out his teeth, dropped them in his glass of beer and, looking up with a big, toothless grin, replied, "Is the offer still good?"
