OT: Network TV WTF???

I have a few shows I watch regularly, have for years, and just noticed they're NOT back on air - with new episodes - for a few more weeks yet?? That's like TWO full months off this winter AFTER not starting the fall season until early or mid-October IIRC.

You Hollywood peeps out there - I know there are a few - what gives? Is it because non-network (see: Netflix, Apple, etc) show seasons are so short that it's carried over? Thx!

Given that most of these events will take place before prime time, especially on the West Coast, a network that bucked the trend might be rewarded

Hollywood is dead. There is nothing going on that's here in LA anymore. I used to see shows or movies being filmed all the time all over the city. I can't remember the last time I saw a crew.

Funny part is all the people of a certain political persuasion complain out here about it, not realizing the reason is because of how they vote. They voted themselves out of work. Fun to vote for high taxes, until it's your money they start taxing.

Their loss, places like Georgia's gain.

NJ was smart enough to give tax incentives. Just like many other states and even Canada.

Ca. leadership is inept. It will be studied in the future. How to ruin paradise. Step 1. Tax the people who work to death to give the money to illegals and non workers facilitating a move out of the state of said tax payers and businesses. No state has lost as many fortune 1000 companies over the last decade as Ca. See the deficit as a result.

All the Olympic events will be live and on-demand on Peacock Network (NBC owned). I've had it for a couple of years and never watched it much aside from Sunday night games that I barely paid attention to. I like the Olympics though. Some great US skaters this year (and some of them were close to helicopter crash people). " "Quad God" Ilia Malinin is a prodigy from Maryland. US has 2 great ladies but one likes to be called "they" so maybe there are more than two lol

Usually the prime time broadcast will replay the days events. And I believe a lot of people try to avoid the live content and updates so they can watch at night after work and after dinner. I suspect the ratings of Olympic prime time NBC broadcast are quite strong.

Yup, there is not really one TV show/series that I watch faithfully anymore. It's 95% garbage what's out there now. It all seems fake and has to check certain boxes taking away from what makes good TV.

I stick to reruns of Seinfeld, The Office, Married with Children and some popular premium channel series. For movies it's mostly stuff pre 2010 that I watch

It's only fair since it all started in Fort Lee. Hollywood them stole to it. My wife's great uncle was a silent film movie star (peer to Chaplin). Only he stayed in NY/NJ when they moved and did Broadway the rest of his career.

I never watched Castle but heard good things about it. NCIS is good. Big Bang Theory is extremely popular I just never got into it. I did see a few episodes of Young Sheldon before and that was decent.

All were or are on a long time so every once in a while I come across an episode I never saw or don't remember. Big Bang had almost 300 and NCIS almost 500.

I'm also addicted to Curse of Oak Island but sometimes question why. I guess it's if they ever find the treasure I'll be damned if I I want to miss it
