Will be attending UCLA vs Villanova game tonight...Cody Riley UCLA center is hurt M. Johnson should get the start. UCLA coach Cronin said he called Myles 10 minutes after his name appeared in portal - while UCLA was prepping for final four. Called Myles terrific young man & outstanding complement to very talented team.

Also heard Myles is enrolled in 2 yr. Masters program & is eligible to play next year.
good luck Myles! Game on ESPNU @8:30 PT.

If he makes his free throws, we need to fire someone on the staff.
I assume he will be playing in front of family.. maybe that will make a difference... and we shot FT pretty well this first game. In another thread I discovered stats from alast season that showed offensive and defensive rating of points per 100 possessions for conference play per person.. Myles lead us by a wide margin.. the team scored well over 100 and held opponents well under 100... no one else was close to that differential... missed FTs or not.

Just tuned in for the last 2 mins of regulation and OT. Myles is playing great and being a difference maker. Can’t root against him. Also, Myles’ moving pics don’t seem to be fouls in the PAC 10 like they were in the B1G!

I watched from the latter part of the first half. Johnson wasn't really getting touches for most of the game, and Nova was shooting a lot from the outside so he didn't get called on for much post defense. He stepped up towards the end of regulation and into OT.

Myles 2 points, 5 rebounds in 36 minutes of an OT win. His only value was his size tonight.

First half: 1/1 FG, 1 RB, 1 PF
Second half: 0/0 FG, 2 RB, 1 blk, 1 tov
OT: 0/0 FG, 2 RB, 1 blk, 2 PF

The only real post defense he had to play was late in the game and into OT, and held his own. Nova wasn't really looking to score much in the paint. They tried getting him the ball three times during regulation - one was an easy bucket, one was a bad pass that hit the backboard, and the other was a tough pass that he couldn't handle. Otherwise, I don't think he touched the ball offensively all game other than ORBs.

He played well tonight - excellent defense. UCLA has lots of offense; they don't need to run the ball through Miles to be effective. My personal observation - all the caroms seems to go the other side of basket he was on. Was kind of uncanny how rebounds seems to not go in his direction. But he was solid, even if the box score was underwhelming.

Myles started again in UCLA's 98-63 win over North Florida last night (11/17).

In 19 minutes: 5 points, 2-4 FG, 1-3 FT, 13 REB, 3 AST, 2 STL, 2 BLK, 1 TO, 2 PF... Not a tough opponent team, but nice Myles numbers for 19 minutes (with the exception of free throws)....

UCLA outrebounded North Florida 54-24, and shot 50% from the field and 52.9% from 3. (UCLA starting guards Campbell, Jaquez, and Juzang shot a combined 8-10 from three. The five starters shot a combined 8-12 from three, only playing for about half the game or a few minutes more...)
